Healing power of gems

Hello all,

 

Does wearing gem stones have any healing power. Can anyone please

explain. I have read a lot that wearing specific gem stones cures certain types

of diseases. Detailed info about what kind of gems with what  

kind of body constitution for what kind of ailments will help.

 

My mom has blood related problems. I have read that wearing red coral helps..

But there are couple of web-sites that mention gem stones that are against your

stars will cause harm than helping. If someone can throw some light on this

subject it will be of great help.
