Take cow's ghee in a heavy bottom frying pan, put about two spoons or more of

grated jaggery in it.  put off the heat when the jaggery melts and add one

teaspoon sonth (dry ginger powder) mix well then add a tea spoon of ajwain.

My mother used to give this. you may consult others also for this. It clears

out the insides therby relieving painful cramps.

Severe pain during menstruation, irregular menstration is helped by

eating sesame with jaggery.

basically, this problem is due to vitiated apana vata. Vata problems

increase during these winter months, comprising of Hemant and shishir

rutu.

Look at the shrwedness of our Rishis, who advised eating mixture of

sesame and jaggery at sankranthi(Pongal), the centre of the winter

season. You will see that eating this mixture popularly known as

Tilgul, energy in the body increases. It also boosts Iron level to some

extent. Apana vata strengthens.

Hence adding sesame seeds to the ghee+jaggery+ginger+ajwain receipe

makes sense. Another receipe based on sesame alone is as follows:

Boil 10 gram of sesame in 200 ml water on low heat.

When water reduces to 50 ml, add jaggery in it and boil further till

jaggery fully dissolves.

Drink this water, for proper menstruation, throughout the flow days.

It reduces cramps. Frequently, menses start with very feeble flow or

spots for a day or two, before proper flow. Above remedy clear this

situation. Take white sesame if poor, crampy start, take black sesame

to reduce heavy painful flow. Continue the remedy for 3 cycles to have

long term effect. In both cases, start the remedy, as soon as one gets even

slight indication (pain, migraine, congestion, water retention etc)of ensuing

cycle.

Like ginger, sesame is also ladies herb.
