Guest guest
Dear Vaidyas, I have a client who has come to me from another Ayurvedic doctor. This client's Prakruti and Vikriti are both Pitta-Vata. This doctor has put them on anti- Vata diet only and he repeatedly does this for all his dual doshas clients i.e. he puts them on anti- Vata diet and treats with pitta reducing herbs. Is this the appropriate procedure, I was always taught to give Vata-Pittas only Kapha foods i.e. a strict Anti Vata-Pitta diet. Awaiting your thoughts Ray
Guest guest
Possibly, the rationale is that Vata is the driver, the " pusher " of the other doshas. By settling Vata first, it becomes easier to balance the other doshas. Hence many practitioners start by treating Vata in the digestive tract, complementing with Pitta-reducing herbs.
