Hi Laura...Your friend should take the Female Formula. You can look in the

files and make it yourself or call Doc. This herbal formula is fabulous! My

daughters and I have had great success with this formula . It has handled

severe cramping to irregular periods very quickly for the girls and I use it

for menepause hormone fluctuations.....Mary Ostrowski

Hypothyroidism is caused by a nutritional lack of

iodine. The iodine in iodised table salt is not

easily assimilated, and anyhoo, too much salt is not

good for you anyway.

Seaweed is the best organic source of iodine. You

can buy it in an oriental grocery. (It is used to wrap

sushi) It comes in dried sheets, and can be crumbled

and sprinkled in soups, salads, etc. to kick start

your thyroid.

....windflower

Using search facilities at the group website, search messages

with " PCOS " as keyword and you will come across a number of suggestions

for herbs, food changes and lifestyle changes needed to set the periods

back to regular clock. In many cases where weight gain has occured

along with irregular periods, certain panchkarma procedure aimed at

detoxifying liver has helped regularising periods as well as offset

increased weight (mainly fat accumulated near navel). This liver

detoxification is a must when synthetic hormones have been used for a

long time, 3 years in this case. Since ovaries get addicted to such

help, it is an uphill task to bring them back to normal functions,

unless liver is brought to shape. The reasons for this are explained in

posts in archives, which can be searched.

While Kumaryasav is a leading herbal medicine, there are many more

which can be used. YOu may gather information unlimited; however, It is

suggested that everything be done under supervision of a vaidya. Liver,

Thyroid ovaries pancreas are all involved here, and it is better to be

cautious when dealing with endocrine glands. When herbs or panchkarma

does not help, author found that correcting energy channels using marma

points clicked.

There are a number of causes for this disorder, which include diabetic

parents, grand parents, fast food, accidents, candidiasis etc. Since

everyone is unique, may require patient specific protocol; it is a good

policy to trust the vaidya treating you, rather than asking second

opionions in a forum. Ayurveda is not a science matching symptoms with

medicines/procedures.

My daughter was about your age and she was advised hormones or operation both of

which we did not want so i tried accupressure on her she became allright and

also conceived very fast after marriage. I am sending this sketch to you press

these points intermittently press, leave, press, leave and do for 50 counts on

each point.

I would suggest that you buy this book " health in your hands " by devendra

vohra, it is very good for accupressure.

i couldn't copy here so i am sending it as an attachment.**

Kumariasav is a very good thing apart from that ashokarisht is good for all of

women's ailments. You may read about it for yourself on the net. It will

streamline the whole system.
