Swelling

Hi All !

We would like to request comment on the following situation.

A close friend has noticed a marble size swelling in the groin area,

at the fold of the joint between the trunk of the body and the leg.

Some months ago this same person had a large mole removed from the mid

upper outside thigh. This same mole was removed using a special black

paste which has a long history of success in removing even malignant

moles. The paste attacks a malignancy and ends up completely removing

the mole and roots over a period of about 20 days. The hole that is

left heals perfectly.

This person had a mole removed from the back in a similar way around 7

years ago with complete success.

The doctor attending was not able to give a definite opinion of

whether the mole, in either case, was malignant.

Our issue at the moment is how to proceed. We believe that the

western practice of biopsy is harmful, however this issue is looking

like something not wise to ignore.

We hope that some of you with long practical experience of this type

of condition might care to comment. We believe that our friend needs

help with some important decisionmaking and we lack the experience in

the physical aspects of Ayurveda to comment.

Our friend is 100% vegan for the past 10 years and lives a very active

lifestyle. He has suffered some relationship stress over the past 2 years.

We value very much being part of this group and the wisdom it presents

Best regards

Prema

Skin tags, moles, swellings are provided by body to assist Vaidya

in diagnosis. Author would suggest you to go through an ayurvedic

perspective on swellings at:

ayurveda/message/3542

The pulse is a good indicator of malignancy, and expert vaidyas have

treated such conditions without any allopathic intervention.

The pulse diagnosis introduction is given in

ayurveda/message/14430

And today, pulse diagnosis is being effectively used to treat

caancers at a speciallized hospital. Please visit the link:

ayurveda/message/13409

For his continued interest, author would like to ask what was the

color of the mole removed in the viscinity of the present swelling?

The location of the swelling described by you is very close to a

marma point in the centre of line joining trunk and the thigh. This

point represents lymph node. Swelling indicates that the lymph system is

overactive there. But that does not mean it is malignant.

The swelling needs to be checked for texture, color, motility,

inflamation if pressed, and needs to be correlated with pulse to

confirm whether it is malignant.

Does it cause pain if pressed?

With proper diagnosis, vaidya can suggest ayurvedic medicine to

remove it, even if it is growing fast.

Some home remedies can be suggested but please meet an ayurveda practitioner in

neighbourhood. If you can

define your location, author can suggest possible name. You may also search

" Contact List " stored in Database on ayurveda group website.

Dear Dr Bhate !

We are grateful for your full response and feel guided by it.

Some more information:

o Since our original post we have examined personally the area

There are two lumps, one 15.03mm and 7.1 mm in diameter

o The mole which has been removed was deep brown color with black

patches and a raised irregular surface. The edges were not very

symmetrical

o We are located in New Zealand

o There is no pain when the lumps are pressed but they are

noticeable with movement

o They are non mobile -- they do not move when the tissue is

moved

o The lumps were discovered 1 week ago

o There has been no change in size over an observation period

of the last 4 days

o When pressed the skin above the bump tends to go pale, however

there is no sign on the skin whatsoever

We again welcome any comments with a deep appreciation of the work

which is being done in this group.

We're taking the liberty of posting two photos to our Piccasa Album in

the hope of clarifying the situation.

Thanks for the information and photos.

There is one vaidya in Auckland, New Zealand, who posted message

14075. His review of two books on ayurveda can be read at

http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A2S3KMYEK3W5VX

He has not included his name (Gerald Lopez) in " contact list "

available in database of our group website, nor he encourages emails

from group members. Hence author is unable to provide his emailid to

you. If he reads this message and contacts you then you are lucky.

Your info gives the impression that at present two lumps are just

fibrous lumps, not malignant. The pattern of small moles on the skin

in the pelvic area, however, indicates the chances of their becoming

malignant exist, in near future. Very effective panchgavya medicines

take care of such lumps, irrespective of their being benign or not.

Unfortunately these are difficult to export. Please visit Gerald

Lopez if you can locate him through directory search.

Dear Prema and all other readers,

Thank you for your posts, Prema, and thank you Shirish for your

recommendation. I strongly suggest to all readers who have moles that

have changed size, shape or colour; and who have discovered lumps or

nodules, to seek qualified attention immediately.

While it is tempting to treat such skin lesions with creams or other

applications, these lesions may be symptoms of a rapidly-developing

systemic problem. Further investigation is advised.

Please feel free to contact me at <ayurvedic(at symbol)ihug.co.nz> or

hello

your friend needs to increase her immunity

i strogly recommand her to visit an experienced ayurveda doctor, in order to

make a complete diagosys of her state (which, as you might know,  referes to

much more than the problem you have mentioned, going to the spiritual roots of

this problem that keeps repeting).

meanwhile she should use food and plants with high ammouts of vitamin A,C,D,E

and alkaline diet.

maybe a combination of chitraka and kapitha might be usefull in removing the

deep AMA in her body, if they are fit for her type / prakriti. also pancha

karma. and lots of warm fluids, to improove the circulation of body fluids and

energies. there are many recommendations for her, but it is not possile without

a direct contact for proper diagnosis. which brings us back to the first one: a

visit to an ayurvedic doctor

Dear Dr Bhate!

Thanks again for your comments and recommendations. We are in contact

with Dr Karnik in Auckland New Zealand, and will notify progress to

the group. We will visit Dr Karnik with our friend in the next day or so.

We very much value your input to the group and wonder if you might be

willing for us to post some of your notes to a website to make them

more generally available? Please let us know if you would like to

discuss this or any other initiative to use the net to make Ayurveda a

little better known

Anyway, thanks again and we will keep you posted on progress

Kind regards

  • 1 month later...

Dear Dr Bhate and others.

You kindly helped with comments relating to an issue our friend was

having with a swelling in the groin region. At the time we indicated

that we would feed back outcomes as they became known.

We followed advice and sought comment from a local Vaidya. We received

and acted on recommendations of diet and exercise, and also matters of

mindset which we agreed could well have influence.

Following the recommended period we noticed very slight increase in

size of both lumps. Since then we have recommended reduction in

protein (acid forming) foods such as beans and nuts, and noticed a

slight improvement in terms of size.

The patient is robustly well and in good spirits.

This post is intended as information and progress report but of course

any comments are very welcome and appreciated.

Kind regards

Prema
