Update on treatment for Schizophrenia

Hello Everyone:

It's been a while since I posted an update on my condition. Last time when I

wrote to the group, my condition had improved considerably after the panchakarma

that I got done in India. Since then a lot has happened and I wanted to post an

update so that others seeking remedy may be benefited.

It so happened that after returning back from India, my mental health improved

for almost a month and a half and I had less frequent occurrence of

schizophrenic symptoms/episodes. There were days when I felt like I never had

any problems at all. Out of a week, I had almost 4-6 good days and then an

episode would strike. Given my previous history of continuous and torturous

symptoms, that was a great relief.

But, that did NOT last for long. After 90 days, things started getting worse

again. I don't know if that had anything to do with the lifestyle and

environment in the US -- most likely yes, as nothing else had changed. I was

still taking the same herbs, followed the same diet, etc. While I was in India

under treatment, I obviously was not working 9 hours a day with the computers,

but here I was -- that too inside an airconditioned building where fresh air is

never allowed to enter - and then we all know about the contamination of water,

air and food in the US.

One thing that I perhaps did not mention in my previous post was that while

undergoing Panchakarma in India, I had stopped taking the antipsychotic

completely! That resulted in a few withdrawal symptoms, but I could somehow

tolerate them while I stayed in Thane and then later some small town near

Jamshedpur. The withdrawal symptoms got much worse when I moved to Delhi. I had

no choice but to start back on the antipsychotic!

Very soon, I discovered that I had candida as well that contributed to some of

my mental symptoms or at least aggravation of those symptoms. So, I started a

full-fledged treatment of candida. While that requires a detailed separate post

on what protocol I followed to treat candida, the good news is that after about

6 months, the symptoms associated with candida (excess mucus, aggravation of

mental symptoms, etc.) are under control. It was quite a struggle dealing with

candida die-offs as that aggravated my symptoms to the max -- if you are

treating candida, please be careful not to start on anti-candida herbs before

weakening them with proper diet.

Now, onto some metaphysical discoveries. After about a month and a half of those

good days, once my symptoms got worse, I talked to a psychiatrist who believed

that in almost 80-90% of the Schizophrenia cases, some " entities " are involved!

They are the ones who reside in your mental body and create the symptoms. At

that time, I knew that Ayurvedic definition of " Bhoot-unmad " does not quite

describe Schizophrenia (at least with the kind of symptoms that I have).

Instead, " Nij-unmad " is what comes close to describing Schizophrenia like

symptoms -- and " Nij-unmad " does not involve any " entities " . So, I hesitated in

accepting this psychiatrist's theory, but at the same time realized that I had

always felt that there is someone controlling my thoughts, dictating/suggesting

how I should live my life, and creating paranoid thoughts. So, I wanted to find

out just for the heck of it, how one can find out if there are  " entities "

hanging out in one's mental

field/aura.

So, I researched and found a ghostbuster, who examined my mental field and told

me that I had a LOT of entities hanging out there!!! Then I thought, " ah, that

explains why I have so many different symptoms! " . So, I asked her if she could

get rid of them -- she agreed for a fee of $400. She also put me on a month long

protection plan that she would clear my mental field every morning.

Here is what happened afterwards. The first time she cleared me, I felt simple

" great " ! For a day and a half, it seemed like I had left all my problems behind

-- in fact, I felt fabulous. And then about two days later, my problems were all

back! So, I called her and asked her why that was. She again examined my mental

field (she did this from a remote location -- I was in Florida and she was in

Indiana) and informed me that the entities are " back " now. Since then, it was

every morning that she cleared me and then the so-called " entities " would come

back either in a few hours or after a day.

So, so much for ghostbusting! That did not seem like a lasting solution.

Therefore, I moved on to the next metaphysical experience. I am a Hare Krishna

and my metaphysical education tells me that a disease is always a result of past

karma -- or else, why would one contract a certain disease, while another won't

under similar circumstances during a lifetime? Ayurveda recognizes this concept

too. In Ayurveda, a disease is curable only when the karma " permits " ! So,

someone suggested that apart from doing mantra meditation which is part of the

Hare Krishna spiritual practice, there are other ways to counter your previous

bad karma. I was all ears. He mentioned " Yagya " (or fire sacrifice offered to

Gods, Demi-gods/Archangels, etc.), " Charity " , etc. -- Yagya being the most

effective one.

So, I found someone who arranges for yagyas to be performed in different temples

in India. He mentioned several yagyas and recommended certain ones that work on

mental issues. I chose " Kala Bhairava " that is performed to please Lord Shiva

who in turn supposedly gives you benediction of mental peace. The concept here

is that certain Sanskrit verses ( " mantras " ) when pronounced correctly by

qualified pious persons ( " Brahmanas " ) have the effect of pleasing the Gods and

receiving their benediction. The power of mantras is known to many of us.

Anyway, I don't know if it's the effect of the Yagya, but after about a month

since when the Yagya was performed, I am back in India -- this time for a long

time! I was almost forced to leave US! While I didn't like the " forced " part of

leaving the US, here I am in a small town in India. I don't have a stressful job

anymore and am living a semi-retired life in a town with almost no pollution

-- you can find organic food for cheap, water tastes sweet, and the air smells

better! It has been few weeks since my arrival here and I am feeling much better

almost from day one.

Apart from the environmental and lifestyle factors, one thing that has

overlaid/superimposed every modalities of treatment, physical or metaphysical,

for me is the chanting of the " maha-mantra " which is part of the spiritual

practice that I undergo everyday as a Hare Krishna. Ever since I landed back in

India, I have had time to chant the maha-mantra everyday early morning. Every

day when I chant the mantra (approx. 108 x 16 times, which takes anywhere from 2

hours to 2 and 1/2 hrs) in the morning, the rest of my day just " flows " -- I

feel totally at peace and almost no mental symptoms. Perhaps, the yagya that was

performed convinced me to come to India and live this simple life where I

would find time to chant in the mornings which was not possible with a family

and a full-time job in the US. I am sure that other factors, environmental and

lifestyle, also have their contributions, but as I said, the chanting has always

(even when I stayed in the

US and did not follow a diet, etc.) helped me " especially " when done in the

morning with strong focus.

Those who do not know what this maha-mantra is -- it's simply: " Hare Krishna

Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare

Hare " . Correct pronunciation and attentive listening while chanting are the key

to success. To those suffering, I highly recommend performing the meditation in

the morning.

Last but not the least, I found this mentioned in a book by Dr. Frawley that we

have several bodies layered upon one another -- physical being the lowest and

causal being the highest. A treatment applied on a higher level body is *always*

more effective than the treatment applied to a lower body. EFT for example,

works on the mental body which is higher than the physical body. A prayer

offered to God or mantra chanted as a prayer to God works on the highest, the

causal body. Any kind of Yoga that aims to take you closer to God also works on

the causal body and is therefore superior to treating just the physical body.

What happens is that the treatment given to the higher body perlocates down to

the lower body! Treating the physical body is like cleaning a tunnel at the end

when the trash is being dumped much upstream. Wouldn't you rather first stop

dumping the trash wherever upstream that it is getting dumped into your tunnel

or clean up the area

upstream? :-)

Matt

hello

your condition is familiar to me, as i have under treatment few people with the

same suffering. they are going well, most of them are not taking neuroleptics

anymore. the most spectacular succes was with a girl, diagnosed with this

condition at an early age, already non-resposive to any medicine anymore when i

saw her.

the part with tho ghost-busters is right. u must increase your yang energy (the

oshawa diet no 7 would be super). then maybe join an authentic yoga school, tell

the teacher about your condition, and ask for a method to increase the

aura-protection by yourself. you need to maintain the high resonances all the

time, and this is a tough training, which should be done under the supervision

of an wise and experienced yoga teacher.

it is wonderfull that you turned towards spirituality as part of the treatment;

worshiping god in any manner, no matter the religion, is going to the roots of

this suffering. i'm happy that you have found the right path. wish you succes .

maybe the experience you accumulated in trying to control your suffering will

make able some day to help other people, and this way find a new " job " away from

computers

wishing you the best

Hello:

Thanks for the input on aura protection using Yoga. Somehow I thought that that

was possible as Ramdev Baba, a popular yogi in India, has been curing quite a

few mental patients of their illnesses including Schizophrenia. Since most of

his patients follow the usual pranayama sequence that he recommends to most, I

have a hunch that it must be one from the usual set or a combination of more

than one from the set that work on strenghtening your mental aura. I have not

heard him recommending a pranayama outside the usual set to any mentally ill.

I also learned today while watching Ramdev Baba's program that Pranayama

iradicates your previous karma and samskaras as well -- which should not be

surprising as Pranayama also is part of a spiritual path leading to God.

Btw, just out of curiosity, since you mentioned that your patients with similar

symptoms are getting cured, what treatment do you use on them?

Regards,

Matt

hello, Mathew

i never said my patients are completly cured, but they keep the problem under

control, most without neuroleptics. they are feeling good now; but if they would

stop the treatment, they would decompensate and go back to the state they had

before. of course, i could not expect permanent effects in short time, the

" oldest " patient came to me in may 2008.

the treatment is different for each of them, consists in diet, plants, life

style and some devices with external use, made of plants, discovered by a

romanian physicist. for only few cases i recomanded some yoga exercises, because

they are from other towns, and i cannot check on them to see if they are doing

it the right manner. unfortunately there is no english version of the site

describing the devices.

one of them discovered spontaneously a form of meditation, that just " happened

to him " , using the subtile vision of the blue colour. the doctors before told

him this was part of the disease, and tryed to " cure " him from it, even if this

" hallucination " was balancing him. i encouraged him in practicing it until he

will do it at will, and not when it happens, and gaved him more hints and

practical advices in using subtile colours. shortly he didn't need neuroleptics

anymore, he started drawing beautiful immages and being more sociable. (i

observed that most of the peple with mental suffering have special artistic

talent).

i know someone who was told by a guru to do a very simple exercise: take a white

small ball, like the ping-pong ones, put it against a dark simple background,

without drowings on it. look at the ball for a while, and then close the eyes

and try to rebuild the immage of the ball in the space between the eyebrows. he

was told that, when he will be able to maintain a stable inner immage for 1

minute, he can go to next stage. this is a wonderful method for making the mind

stable and silet, and keep it under control.

if you start pranayama, first ask for a competent advice, do not learn them from

internet, because some of the methods might not fit you right now. i never saw

you, i don't know much about your dosha type and specific manifestation of the

sympthoms, but i think the method with very fast breething might overstimulate

you, for example. i'm not a yoga teacher, only a yoga student for the last 15-16

years, so i also ask for advice of a teacher when i make recommendations in

delicate cases. for the rest of the problems, like jonts or spine pain, bad

digestion, even some forms of cancer, i have no problem in recommending some of

the simple asanas. i should mention that, not being a yoga teacher, i only tell

them about physical effects and not subtile ones, but they end up discovering

those by themselves. i never recommended advanced pranayama, only the complete

yogic breeth and abdominal breething, because the subtile structures must be

prepaired before

such strong methods. one needs some months of asanas, diet and detoxifying

methods before starting pranayama, even years for some special forms of

pranayama. pranayama is like a very sofisticated technology, without proper

training might harm you. immagine a 5 years old kid driving a car, but his legs

are too short to reach the break peddal. the training before pranayama is

" growing the limbs " is this comparison.

wish you the best of luck in finding a good yoga teacher
