Guest guest
My question would be is it true iron deficiency, (was iron levels check specifically?) or was the person told he/she had anemia and to take iron? You can become anemic from missing a variety of minerals, iron just being the most common. Copper deficiency will make you anemic, as will an inability to process VB-12 - that would be called pernicious (sp) anemia. I m pretty sure there are a couple more things that would make a person anemic Pam
Guest guest
Anna, Pam is 100% correct, many times anemia is wrongly diagnosed because of inadequate testing. Iron can be a very dangerous substance to supplement in its ability to create a serious free radical problem. The only time one should consider supplementing iron is after a conclusive " transferritin " test. So my suggestion would be to have that test. If the transferritin is fine then you do NOT need ANY iron supplementation and looking to a professional who utilizes Standard Process would be your best bet. I'm not saying that just because I am such a professional. Any professional using SP should find it reasonably simple to help in this situation. Unless there is some other problem you didn't mention. Guest guest
Below is a great formula I used for my girlfriend when she had loss of appetite and low iron. It worked wonders for both cases. (for some reason low iron and appetite loss are commonly seen together) Good Luck, Rob 1 – Cup of Organic Blackstrap Molasses 1 – Cup of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar All you have to do is mix the two ingredients together and then stir. Store your mixture in a mason jar or some other glass container. Refrigeration is not necessary but can be done if you prefer it cold as some do. The suggested dosage is between two and three tablespoons a day. If suffering from Arthritis, Osteoporosis or Migraine, I’d recommend starting off with three, (one before each meal) and continue for a month. After the first month it would then be best to cut back to two tablespoons (one in the morning, and one at night) which is the maintenance dosage. It is also advisable to take Vitamin E with this formula, to compensate for the effects of the organic Iron in the Molasses. Guest guest
reply... for Iron deficinecy, check the way you can add Black Strap molasses to the diet... It is not bad on hot cereals, on ice cream , on pancakes, lots of kids like a sorghum syrup on their bread and butter, ( similar to the use of honey ) .. By the way, is there a chart on the beneficial ingerdients of a sorghum syrup? This item on the shelf will sugar, and tastes like a molasses candy... If there is the same kind of " IRON " in sorghum, as in the Black Strap Molasses... we have another winner to add to our diet in place of the desturctive sweets of cane sugar, et al... muriel of north wast Arkansas.. Guest guest
Hari Om ! Firstly, avoid drinking tea and coffee immediately after meals as they interfere in the absorption of iron from the food. Juice of beetroot (chakunder) taken 2-times daily is an excellent remedy for anaemia especially for children and teenagers. If it is not possible, soak 12 currants (munnakas) in water overnight. Remove seeds and eat them regularly in the morning for minimum 4-weeks and see the results..................
