Guest guest Posted October 7, 2008 Report Share Posted October 7, 2008 Dear Vaidyas: While most of the Ayurvedic texts categories different foods into tamasic, rajasic and sattvic categories, superfoods like Spirulina and Chlorella were not there in old times. How does one then categorize them? I read Dr. Bhate's earlier post, ayurveda/message/885, that mentions what the effect of a tamasic food is on the body versus a sattvic food.
