Guest guest
That's a very good question Matt… The terminology Superfoods is a vague word that refers to foods that are high in vitamins and minerals of a broad spectrum… Ayurveda is more about eating a balanced diet with all 6 tastes in every meal if possible… Ayurveda did not recognize vitamins and minerals at its birth. With that said you can recognize a foods doshic involvement by its taste… Spirulina if memory serves me has a bitter/sweet taste, which falls under Vata/kapha… and Chlorella I believe, was pretty bitter which would make it strictly Vata… They are both high in chlorophyll, which makes them both good as blood cleansers, which makes sense, since they are bitter in taste… Trying to fit them into and Ayurvedic diet will be hard unless you use them in very small amounts…
