Guest guest
Pia, According to Ayurveda, Prakruti (constitution) is of two types - - Prakruti Prakruti - which is the constitution since birth. - Vikar Prakruti - which is the constitution of the disease. When the disease constitution is of vata dosha, anti-vata treatments - medicinal as well as Panchkarma can get rid of disease and balance the dosha. When the constitution is vata-dominant since birth, it is said that the person will have short life. But no statistics to support this observation has been available in recent times. But if vata people follow nutritious diet to balance vata and have vata regulating Panchkarma, one is at least assured of healthy life till he lives. Ayurveda considers the average life of human as 100 years. By that norm, Alpayu that is short life should not be anything less than 60-65 years. Dr.D.B.Muzumdar M.D.Ayurveda-Medicine (Mumbai-India) Mail : dahpc _______________ Is it true that somebody with prodominance of vata dosha shall have a short life? Can anything be done about it? If yes, how?
Guest guest
Noel, Ayurveda has no references to 'kapha mind'. The doshas on mental level are rajas and tamas; and vata-pitta-kapha are the doshas of physical and physiological aspect of the body. The two ideas cannot be fused to create a vata mind, pitta mind or kapha mind. Dr.D.B.Muzumdar _____________ ................You can have a predominantly Vata body and a kapha mind, and visa versa..............
Guest guest
Dear Dr.D.B.Muzumdar I have always been under the impression that a balanced Vata mind insinuated a " Sattva " type of thinking at peace; an unbalanced Vata mind insinuated a scattered type of think…. A balanced Pitta mind is organized and persevering " Rajas " always change to adapt; were as an unbalanced Pitta mind is agitated easily, and angry … A balanced Kapha mind is also at peace and sees deep love but with unbalanced Kapha or " Tamas " comes mental laziness and greedy… A teacher of mind said it is like a scummy, muddy pond {Tamas} and then the rain came down and poured into one side of the pond from a creek {Rajas} and stirred everything up and stared moving it out the other side and finely the rain stopped and left a clear water pond {Sattva} … Tamas have to go through Rajas to get to Sattva and I can see the mind going through this… and Rajas has to go through Sattva to get to Godhead and I would like to see this…. It Is always good to hear from you my friend... Noel ________________ Ayurveda has no references to 'kapha mind'.
