Hi Bonnie

Please click on the following link

You may be asked to login to the ayurveda group before

presenting you the screen with file titles.

Click on the filename " Vata - Pitta food Program.doc " and you will

see the recommendations for food.

You may also click on following link

and select file " Food_properties.doc " for studying what foods from your diet may

pacify your conditions. However, the file Vata - Pitta food Program.doc by Noel

directly addresses your querry.

Another suggestion: if you get an opportunity to consult some ayurvedic

practitioner please get your ayurvedic assessment confirmed. Though a little

Sixth sense applied to your past postings suggests Vata - Pitta

conclusion OK. The discussion here can not substitute consultation with a Health

care practitioner. Also compare ayurveda recommendation with those of

Deepak Chopra on food and post differences if any. Also remember that the

properties of the food given change depending on the spices added, combination,

the conditions such as temperature, time of the day also. These detailed

recommendations can be given only by an ayurvedist knowing the local climate,

local vegetable/grain properties. The verification of these ideas was obtained

when some Indians in USA having milk allergies found that in India, the allergic

response was almost nil. Even when fresh raw milk was taken. Though ayurvedic

principles are applicable universally, they need to be sharpened to the local

conditions also.

found an interesting book called

perfect health by Deepak Chopra and I discovered I am a perfect vata

with a

bit of pitta in the upper numbers. He lists a bunch of food

appropriate but

I would like to know if there any one out there that deals with

nutrition on

the whole and can either recommend a book of recipes for a vatta

pitta type

or offer suggestions

I did find a nice sounding cookbook on an Ayurveda-yoga site and will

probably buy it.
