Guest guest
Here are some thing that you can try for dry skin. Is the itchy rash from something other than dry skin? Such as allergy, dermatitis. If so, I can send other things. Dottie Aloe Gel: The thick mucilaginous gel is an ideal home first aid cure for burns, wounds, and sunburn. It is also useful for any dry skin condition, especially eczema around the eyes and sensitive facial skin, and can be used for treating fungal infections such as ringworm. In Ayurvedic medicine, the gel is an important tonic for excess " pitta " (fire). Floating bath oil for dry skin: 2 ounces vegetable oil 12 drops each of lavender and rose geranium essential oil Combine the ingredients. Use 1 teaspoon per bath. Dry and damaged skin: This bath recipe contains the relaxing aroma of lavender, along with oatmeal and baking soda, which are soothing to dry, sensitive skin. 1 cup dried lavender flowers 2 cups oatmeal 1/2 cup baking soda Place the ingredients inside a food processor or blender. Grind to a smooth, fine powder. The powder should have the consistency of whole grain flour. Pour into a clean, airtight container or use a resealable plastic bag. Pour one-half cup into your bath as you fill the tub for a soothing, end of day treat. Yield: 28 ounces, enough for seven baths Cleanser for Dry complexion: 2 ounces aloe vera gel 1 teaspoon vegetable oil 1 teaspoon glycerine 1/2 teaspoon grapefruit seed extract 8 drops sandalwood essential oil 4 drops rosemary essential oil Blend the ingredients. Shake well before each use. Apply with a cotton ball, then rinse off with water. Gently pat face dry. Toner for Dry complexion: 2 ounces aloe vera gel 2 ounces orange blossom water 1 teaspoon vinegar 6 drops rose geranium essential oil 4 drops sandalwood essential oil 1 drop each chamomile and jasmine essential oils, optional 800 IU vitamin E oil, or two 400-IU vitamin E capsules Combine ingredients (if using vitamin E capsules, pop them open and squeeze the oil into the mixture). Shake before using. This toner can be used as an aftershave. - <CO_Photobug <herbal remedies > Tuesday, April 20, 1999 7:03 PM [herbal remedies] Skin Problems > CO_Photobug > > I'm new to the list and wondered if anyone has any susgestions for dry > skin. Guest guest
Hi, I had acne when I was a teenager and really sympathize with your daughter. In my experience, anything that overstimulated or affected the liver or liver meridian made the acne worse. (It still does.) The biggest culprit was caffeine in any form. I drank a lot of diet sodas and tea and had no idea that I was making the problem so very much worse! Coffee is the worst of all. I'm not one of those people who think all caffeine or all coffee is always bad. But it does make pimples and acne worse. So look for gentle herbs that help keep the liver functioning properly and get her completely off caffeine, if she's drinking it--sodas, tea, coffee. I drink an herbal infusion with dandelion and burdock that seems to help. In terms of stones, my standard to suck up bad stuff of all kinds is black tourmaline. Place it over the liver. Also citrine and peridot over the third chakra and liver to help balance it. I haven't tried this but since blue is an antidote to red, inflamed conditions, it might be good to try a cool blue stone, like sodalite or blue lace agate or kyanite. Maybe infuse the agate or sodalite in water and use it as a face rinse and also drink it. (Think I'll try that myself -- I'll let you know my results.) Good luck to you and bless you both! --- CrystalMoonStar1 wrote: > Hi All > > I wonder if anyone can offer any advice here? > My 13 year old has terrible problems with her skin, spots etc. > and we have > tried most things that the doctor has had to offer us. > Nothing has worked > and we are now witing for a specialsit appointment. > She is beginning to get very upset abotu this and was in tears ===== ********************************************************* KNOW THYSELF. -->> Starry Night Astrology's Premium Astrological Reports. Guest guest
Hi I was wondering when one shaves the skin, sometimes my skin gets really red and itchy and bumpy and blotchy about a few hours later for a few days. I guess my skin is really sensitive I was wondering what one could do to counter the effect or to soothe the skin. Aftershave doesnt seem to help at all. My mother said to put on olive oil? Guest guest
Aftershave is probably irritating your skin more than not because of the alcohol. My legs are really sensitive when I shave...I find it helpful to shave with Jojoba oil instead of using anything that contains stuff that is going to irritate them. Plus the oil really lets the razor glide over the skin. For the skin irritation after you shave, try using chamomile water or lavendar water on it afterwards. That always helps me. Guest guest
Hi Kim, Often, when the kidney is not functioning right, the body will use the skin to remove toxins from the body. In that case, you'd need a kidney cleanse! love Lisa - Kim herbal remedies Thursday, November 10, 2005 5:29 PM Herbal Remedies - Skin problems I was wondering, I am having alot of skin problems lately. Guest guest
However, you should really be on a vegan diet when cleansing your colon. Speaking of which, if the skin problems started AFTER you started cleansing your colon, then you're probably coping with a healing crisis, and the best thing to do with that is just to continue cleansing :-) love Lisa - Anne herbal remedies Saturday, November 12, 2005 11:34 PM Herbal Remedies - Re: Skin problems "Kim good and in that case try some probiotics...Solgar is good..if you can stand yogurt eat a little every day for two weeks; Dannon is certified as having the correct type of Pro-biotics that are healthy; try Dannon Lemon or Vanilla Yogurt...pro-biotics help the body to utilize the B-Vits. Guest guest
Shery It is true what you say...that Dannon Yogurt is full of sugar...one reason why I recommended " a little everyday:..because the Pro-Biotics in the Yogurt are like a culture such as like Buttermilk. When making Buttermilk; one only adds a tablespoon of culture to milk. So it is when we add Pro-Biotics...the Intestines grow more on these. This is a concept that says a little yogurt every day is good. However, for those who do not want the sugar in Yogurt; buy Plain- Yogurt and flavor it yourself. Recipie Original by Anne of CT. Take one pint Plain-Yougurt(no sugar or flavorings)...add 2 teaspoons instant dried-milk powder and 1 teaspoon lemmon juice or orange juice. Or take plain-yogurt and add 1/2 tspn. vanilla extract/Stir well. herbal remedies , " Sherry " <djlmusky-man@w...> wrote: > > The only things is that yogurt is full of sugar, the very thing yeast feeds > on... > Sherry > ----- > " Kim good and in that case try some probiotics...Solgar is good..if > you can stand yogurt eat a little every day for two weeks; Dannon is > certified as having the correct type of Pro-biotics that are > healthy; try Dannon Lemon or Vanilla Yogurt...pro-biotics help the > body to utilize the B-Vits.
