Please read message post# 8687. This is relevant as you had reported

some sleep disturbance problems earlier. The messages in the thread

starting with message 8687 are all relevant to your question. those you

will find below the message if you visit this message at group website.

You will find that Todd recommends taking a nap in Vata time of the

day, 3-5 pm, along with a herbal receipe to address sleep issues.

Experience of few patients of this author with Ashwagandha is that even

if sleep is disturbed due to the need to visit rest room, it gets

restored in few minutes and whole day goes fresh, provided ashwagandha

dose is carefully regulated. Else, a little drowsiness is experienced

after meals.

If carbs in the meal are increased, blood sugar shoots up and this

often causes drowsiness. Excess food in lunch may also cause this

state. If this is not the cause of temptation to " nap " , body is

demanding it as a result of mental/physical exhaustion and it is better

to take the nap rather than commit prajnaparadha.

Getting a sound sleep is a healthy sign, as long as one is not

disturbing others by snoring.

Thanks for your answer. I get sleepy after I eat often even when I don't eat

carbs. I believe I may have food allergies and will get tested soon, I hope.
