OA is described as a sandhigata vata in ayurveda texts.i prefer this

drugs.

1.ashwagandha churna 5gm b.d

2.maharasnadi kawath 20 ml b.d

3.yograg gugglu 2 b.d

4.rasna-sallaki tab 2 b.d

 

for external application- mahanarayan tailm

since blood pressure is not treated as a separate disease in ancient

texts, correct medicine, food and lifestyle changes (to restore

balance of doshas) will cause normalization of blood pressure.

 

This applies with some exceptions (e.g. patients should not be

suffering from a disease believed to be incurable in ancient times)

Ayurveda is more complex than a text-table having symptoms in one

column and probable remedies in second column.

 

To answer your question straight, for OA patients, Maha Rasnadi Quath

may reduce b.p. for some while it may be ineffective for few.

 

Constitution, Food and lifestyle are more important variables which

need to be considered according to individual.
