Guest guest
Hi, I have some bottles of Trivanga Bhasma 15 years old. Now on some sites I have read, that some bhasma have infinite shelf life, while others only a couple of years! Does anyone know 'for sure', about the shelf life of Trivanga Bhasma? Guest guest
According to Sharangdhara Samhita, all bhasmas have indefinite shelf life, the older the better like ghee and honey. However, mimicing the western approach, FDA in India forces manufacturers to specify the manufacturing date and expiry date for bhasmas, even though it is not applicable according to ayurvedic texts. However, care should be taken to keep bhasmas in air-tight glass containers, otherwise dust, contaminants and moisture can have adverse effect on the shelf life.
