Guest guest
Living in a Western society I too find it is very tempting to start taking multivitamins but when tested with kinesiology I have found generally people need perhaps one or two mineral supplements and not a whole heap of different products - Magnesium is one which is often useful and then the others depend really on the age and symptoms of the individual. Hatha and pranayama give more peace of mind and heart than any supplements. Best, Jane In US and in other so called developed countries , its common for people to take multivitamin tablets/mineral supplements everyday

The exception to this in my mind, is Vitamin D, which countless studies show is very defecient in all people who do not get good sun exposure. There are other exceptions but each case would have to be carefully evaluated. In all cases of liver stagnation one should be careful about giving vitamins, especially any synthetics. We need to eat well, improve our digestion, and clean up our liver and blood then these substances will not be necessary. The theories sound good becuase we do need these substances but we need to get them from food and through our own physiological functions. Not one person I have ever met who I consider to be truly healthy, takes vitamins. Sun is often ignored as a health benefit, in fact because of fear of cancer many people have become sun phobic, but many modern studies show this is a big mistake. Yogis have for a long time advocated taking the morning and later afternoon sun. Sun baths are not necessary, short walks or doing mild exercises like Yog Asana or Tai Chi, in the morning and or afternoon sun with exposed head, face, and arms is sufficient, in a private space one can go shirtless. Do not wear sunglasses or hats at this time. Liz
