Both my brother in law and a friend have had too much iron in their blood on

random blood testing and I was wondering what the Vaidyas would offer to

reduce this - all allopathy comes up with is blood letting which seems

rather medieval to me. Although the brother in law drinks alcohol, sometimes

to excess, the friend does not.

Thankyou for any help you can offer them.

the indian vegetarian diet would be very good, with an emphasis upon low iron,

iron-binding

foods such as cereals and pulses (phytic acid), milk (phosphates) and oxalic

acid-rich leafy

greens, and possibly the supplemental use of tannin-rich herbs such as amalaki

(the classic

pitta herb)
