Guest guest Posted April 25, 2008 Report Share Posted April 25, 2008 Both my brother in law and a friend have had too much iron in their blood on random blood testing and I was wondering what the Vaidyas would offer to reduce this - all allopathy comes up with is blood letting which seems rather medieval to me. Guest guest Posted April 25, 2008 Report Share Posted April 25, 2008 the indian vegetarian diet would be very good, with an emphasis upon low iron, iron-binding foods such as cereals and pulses (phytic acid), milk (phosphates) and oxalic acid-rich leafy greens, and possibly the supplemental use of tannin-rich herbs such as amalaki (the classic pitta herb) best...
