To all concerned,

All medical books teach that menstruation is primarily controlled by hormones in

the ovary along with co-ordination of hypothalamus, a small part at the base of

brain. Where does the liver act in the large part?

Even according to Ayurveda,it is the Rasa dhatu and Rakta dhatu that are

responsible for Raja(menstrual fluid), Yakrut(liver) is not mentioned in

relation to Raja.

Menstruation is in large part an act guided by the liver and hence

pitta, and so where anger predominates general anti-pitta therapies

can be used.

my goodness me - is this for the sake of mere argumentation? can you

really see no relationship between artava and the liver? between

apana vayu and the liver? between herbs like kumari and the liver?

are you not familiar with this notion of pelvic congestion secondary

to liver stagnation? or that the liver maintains hormonal balance

through conjugation? perhaps at a later time i can provide a more

complete exegesis of the role of the liver in female reproductive

health, and specifically menstruation, but you might go back through

the archives and read some of the posts by myself and dr bhate
