Guest guest
Hi all, I wonder if there are experienced vaidyas on this forum to answer my question. Is Vasti - especially water vasti - safe to do every day? I was told it is safe and feels good and I am worried about the long term effects of doing it. Thanks,

Guest guest
best to do any basti daily. It oculd make the body dependant on it to have a bowel movement. It does feel great and I usually do not give for more than three day but have done up to ten. It helps clean the body and can be a way to give nutrition to in those who are depleated. Very useful to help people with any trouble in the intestines or reproductive system. Useful for back problems as well. _______________ Is Vasti - especially water vasti - safe to do every day? Guest guest
Dear Who-so-ever, Basti (Vasti) is one of the basic Panchkarma procedures. No Panchkarma is tobe done without specific purpose and indication. The maximum basti course described in Ayurveda is for one month. Defaecation (passing stools) is a default function of this body since birth. If one has a correct diet and having proper bowel movements, why need a basti in first place ? And if the diet does not have proper balance and roughage, what will the basti do ?
