Guest guest
This concept is based on the underlying principle that these problems have lack of suffecient energy and vitality to control the blood pressure. I agree with that and addressed it in my previous post about the importance of low metabolism in these types of cases. My doubt is; since these cases also have excessive hot toxic conditions, stimulants might be contraindicated. Gold bhasmas could be overheating to someone who is already overheated from toxins. Perhaps such a substance would be useful after the excess heat and toxins had been removed, then it might be a very useful Rasayana. In TCM it is advised not to give stimulating adaptogens like Ginseng in many of these cases since it can overheat and raise the blood pressure even more. I will be interested in the opinion of others on this, I hope some knowlegable person will comment. _____________ > Chala characteristic is only of Vata dosha. Due to this Chala characteristic the Vata dosha gets stimulated very easily. Vyana vayu's function is to circulate blood flow with appropriate pressure. Hence while treating reactive hypertension one should concentrate on Vyana vayu. > Bruhatavata chintamani is a very good preparation for reactive hypertension of any cause. The said medicine will not directly lower the blood pressure but will act on Vyana vayu, control on Chala guna and as an after effect will reduce blood pressure. Guest guest
Dear Liz Brihatvat chintamani has no stimulating effect. On the contrary it stabilises Vata dosha. It not only has Bhasma of Gold [ removes toxins] but it has Bhasma's of Praval, Mouktic, Raupyya etc. The Mouktik and Praval acts on Pitta dosha. The Pitta dosha is living within Rakta dhatu. These ingredients has stabilising effect on Raktadhatu. [ Detoxification of blood] The Ushna guna [ Heat] of the Rakta dhatu is due to the Pitta dosha. Hence these ingredients reduces Ushna Guna [ heat] of the Pitta dosha and Raktadhartu Raupyya Bhasma is too of Shita guna [cold] and acts on Majjadhatu or Nerves. It controls Vatadosha within the Majjadhatu. Hence I think use of Brihatvat chintamani in accelerated hypertension will not only lower blood pressure gradually but also protect brain form any damage.
