Guest guest
I recently took penicillin vk for 15 days for what I think was pneumonia or some similar infection and now have the most messed up digestion I have ever had in my life with diarrhea and cramping and my gut just isn't working right. I have been eating Culturelle probiotic pills when I think about it, equalactin when the nausea is bad, and some yogurt. The brat diet hasn't really helped. How can I get myself back on track? It feels like I have diverticulitis again too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is interfering with my life greatly--I teach for only an hour at a time and had to shut down the class to run to the bathroom.

Guest guest
Remember too that the ileo-caecal valve can get stuck open when shocked by such anti-biotic onslaught - this can be remedied with firm pressure to that area - also rubbing the abdomen in circular movements, beginning at the umbilicus, and gently rubbing with the flat of the hand in ever increasing size of circles, clockwise to reduce movements and anti-clockwise to increase bowel movements, can help.
