Calamus Root - continued

I was informed by my ayurvedic friend in Germany who did ayurvedic

pharmacy studies in North India that he had been taught by the

pharmacies in North India that the calamus root from Spiti valley in

the Himalayas is widely regarded as the best.

Does anyone have any further knowledge about the species growing there

and how one may obtain a fresh whole root?
