Can Bhasmas clear Canadian Customs?

Hello

I was wondering if bhasmas can be sent to Canada from India - would they clear

customs?

I am interested in buying bhasma of shankabhasma, muthyabhasma, ayabhasma and

gold bhasma.

I am just wondering if we can receive them here. I want to buy a six month

supply at once and do not want to risk spending them money and have them taken

at customs.

I am sure that is possible, put them as minerals powders for technical use and

find a suitable custom code.

Hi Mandkaini,

Nice to see your message. We have been sending parcels to all parts

of the world including Canada.

Canadian Customs only have problems where the herbs are ill-packaged,

not labelled properly or they have some reason to suspect.

Since bhasmas would be powders, these have to be packaged properly in

double Polybags, sealed and stored in some plastic food-grade container.

Each layer of packaging should have appropriate labelling.

For example - Shankhabhasma could be mentioned as " Calcined Shell Ash "

Then someone can attach in-house certificate of analysis or a

declaration that the material is not for commercial purposes and only

for personal use or lab-testing.

If you still need help in procuring bhasmas, let me know - I can help.

Send a private message.

As a health care product for sale in Canada they would definitely be

prohibited. Beyond that, whatever you bring in for your personal use

is in large part up to you. Your success in getting it into Canada

is somewhat random, depending upon the individual customs officials.

If you can get the shipper to pack it as innocuous as possible, with

no mention or reference to medicinal/commercial use you are probably

OK. You could also get them to mark them as tika powder, or

" religious items " . Puneet's suggestions are all excellent, but make

sure the certificates don't mention anything about medicinal use.

Have you ever had any bhasma sent to you?

I am nervous because they are very costly.

We need to use swarna, muthya and shanka and aya bhasma and they are costly so I

would hate to spend the money and then lose them.

Especially shanka powder may be even prohibited as an endangered species.

My mom tried to bring conk shells from the bahamas and had them taken away at

customs even though they were not from and endangered type of snail.

Puneetji said to label with contents and package them well. I am nervous about

putting contents because if we put ea shell as or gold ash they may have these

listed as restricted items.

Perhpas as you are saying it would be good to say that they are for personal

religious purposes.

Let me know if you have ever had them shipped to you.

Thanks

Mandakini

Ole - I think the correct custom code is either

use 1302199040 (13th Chapter) or 2106099998 (21st Chapter)

I sent a heap of homeopathic preparations to the US - labelled all as

homeopathic samples and sent details separately - similarly with DMSO -

cosmetic samples is always a good way to go too

I dont think that is recommended; to send details separately, or label contents

as they are in a non-specific way, especially with bhasmas containing heavy

metals ie. mercury, if details are not specific, customs will quickly become

suspicious and grab them. The key is to label the bhasmas as technical products,

ie minerals powders for testing purposes and not to be ingested, with a suitable

custom code, then it will sail through customs.
