Guest guest
Hello, I am writing to request information regarding treatment of ringworm. I have had this for a few weeks now and it seems to be spreading. I am taking neem, oregano oil and black walnut herbs internally and am applying tea tree oil and neem oil externally. So far not much change so I think I must alter my diet more than I have been (avoiding pitta- coffee, alcohol etc.). Any suggestions? Should I stick to a kitchadi diet? What about fruits? Thank you for your help, Kristina Berkeley
Guest guest
Hi Christina When diet is wrong medicine has no effect and when diet is correct medicine is not needed " is an often quoted ayurvedic proverb. One home remedy is suggested here, successful on several patients. Early morning, Take half tea-spoon sea salt in 200 ml warm water. After 30 minutes, take a metal cup (100 ml), crush a pearl of garlic in it. Add half cup (50 ml) fresh home made yogurt and 1/2 tsp turmeric in it. Mix well and drink it. Do not eat anything for next one hour. Repeat yogurt drinking at sunset time also, leaving a teasppon of mixture for local application. Increase one pearl of garlic to two from 3rd day, one more from 5th day till you find that burning sensations is trouble some. Sea salt, Garlic and turmeric are enemies of yeast, fungus and many other bactteria, while being soft with intestinal friendly bacteria. If some do get killed, yogurt replenishes them. If you get fresh lemon fruit, you can apply it locally, provided you can bear the stinging sensation. Same thing should be said about apple cider vinegar. After evaluating some of the indian herbs available in U.S.A. author does not suggest any ready formulations or herbs which have to be obtained online. The Indian traditional garlic (small but much potent variety) is no more widely available in India itself, one may have to use whatever is available. Neem and tea tree oil were seen to give only temporary short term relief when faced with ringworm. Garlic however, is more effective based on little experience of this author. Avoid soft carbs, refined sugar, sweets, dairy(yogurt used above is an exception), heavy to digest legumes, oily, fried, sour (lemon and aamla again exceptions), sleeping in daytime. Take a walk after meals, eat slightly less that what hunger would need. Ginger with saindhav salt before starting meal is what would be beneficial. Honey an exception amongst sweets. If you get old honey or old ghrutam, they are medicines. ____________________ I am writing to request information regarding treatment of ringworm.
