Vaidyas used to make their own medicines in past and the Vedas

contain several verses and mantras which help the Vaidyas in collecting herbs

according to astrological calendar. This maximises medicinal powers

of herbs, the powers being driven by cosmic energies collected by

them. The connection between Astrology and Aayurveda was strong,

whereby most practitioners knew both these parts of Vedas well and

used together. Timewise, Astrology existsed before ayurveda and attracted

scholars from all parts of globe. The birth of ayurveda may be traced in

astrology, as it defines trees to be worshipped by people according to natal

moon star.

While Sun is considered the planet governing medicine science, Vaidyas who make

medicines, they worship Mars, the planetary lord

governing success in alchemic arts. Connection of Mars to Ashwinikumars also

exists. To please Mars, worship Lord

Ganesha, assumed to be resident in Muladhar Chakra. That is why Lord

Ganesha is offered Red flowers, and naturally made Ganesha idols are

colored red.

Mars also affects our biological - harmonal rhythmic cycles, heart

rhythm and adrenals mainly. Total span of menstrual cycle life is

longer or shorter depending on the strength of Mars in natal chart.

Weaker Mars is a pointer to disorders like PCOS, ED etc. In case the

menses of middle aged ladies are delayed presently, do not worry as

Mars is retrograde in sky.

Purpose of this post in to inform that this red planet is coming in

close encounter with earth and a beautiful panoramic event is

unfolding in sky, in the zodiac sign Gemini, which spawns many Vaidyas,

astrologers and those with a bent towards occult/mysticism/spiritualism etc.
