Guest guest
Hi All, After my first pregnancy a year ago, I got hemorroids in the 9th month of pregnancy. I was advised that this was one of the maternity problems and will go away after the baby is born. So did it happen. It went away 2 months after the baby was born. Recently it has appeared again. I am too skeptical on surgery. Can we have natural remedies for this problem? Will this ever go away without any surgery? Pls help.
Guest guest
If you are in the US, there's a cream called Preparation-H that is quite healing. It is over-the-counter. My father has had these in the past. A major cause for Haemorrhoids is constipation or over-exertion through long hours of uncomfortable seating (job/etc). His has been cured over time with Triphala and other herbs. After my first pregnancy a year ago, I got hemorroids in the 9th month ..............I am too skeptical on surgery. Guest guest
Take some gauze and soak in witch hazel, and apply-nurses did that for me after the birth of my son and it worked. Also prep-H works well too also, be sure to add plenty of fiber in your diet. I take metamusal (sorry about spelling) 3x a day and have not had any of those problems for months Take Care, Rochelle aka newbie here.._________________________ After my first pregnancy a year ago, I got hemorroids in the 9th month of pregnancy. Guest guest
Dear Madam I am Dr Upadhye performing Ayurvedic way of surgery for Piles and Fistulas termed as Ksharasutra since 1984. In my view there is misconception about Piles[ Haemorrhoids] Usually during pregnanacy due to pressure symptoms womens were suffering from constipation. The constipation occassionaly leads to Fissure i.e.ulcer at anus. Which in due course of time covered by a sanile tag [skin flap]. Usually this skin flap is termed as piles by patients. Piles are uasally asymptomatic. They bleed occassionaly with out pain. But in case of Fissure there will be pain during defecation followed by bleeding. Hence i would suggest you to get checked by Surgeon, get diagnosed your disease and then start treatment. visit www.astrotreat.blogspot.com _____________________________ After my first pregnancy a year ago, I got hemorroids in the 9th month of pregnancy. Guest guest
I am in the 9th month of my pregnancy (actually, I am two days overdue, cross your fingers baby is born soon) and I have awful hemorrhoids. I got my first little one as early as 14 weeks, but as the pregnancy went on they got worse and worse, and now it sort of feels like my entire intestine is falling out. I am worried that there is no way these will go back to normal after I have my baby. I have never had problems with constipation during my pregnancy, I am very regular and my stools are soft. I don't understand how I could have gotten hemorrhoids this badly. They burn terribly when I go to the bathroom, and its a very weird feeling when I wash them. I carry Tucks wipes with me everywhere I go, I do the witch hazel thing, and I use organic hemorrhoidal cream. Nothing seems to help. For the burning, the best remedy has been diaper rash creme, I use Burts Bees. When the burning is really bad, I take an epsom salt bath. Is there anything else I can do? ____________________ I am Dr Upadhye performing Ayurvedic way of surgery for Piles and Fistulas termed as Ksharasutra since 1984. Guest guest
wow, this brought back memories...I had a similar problem, however not quite so bad, when overdue with my son. The bad news was it got much worse after he was born, but the good news is it did clear up completely within 3 weeks. It may be just all the pressure on that area, just a thought. Hopefully soon your baby will be here VERY SOON and you can start recovery. Praying for a safe delivery and immediate relief of the hemmies. Guest guest
Since you are due, this suggestion is likely to help you in postpartum. Painful piles when a part of recturm is coming out of the body can be managed by a oil. The problem with these is the burning sensation and pain after passing stools, no matter how soft stools are. The last portion of colon swells and projects out. Difficult to clean by rubbing after defecation, and must be swabbed with wet cotton. Author makes a patient specific oil, if patient is available personally, based on his/her constitution. The ingredients are: Irimed, clove, agar, majith, camphor, ela, lodhra For those who cant meet vaidya, standard formula oil can be bought from Ayurvedic pharmacies, under the name Irmedadi oil. The procedure is to apply the oil at bedtime and early morning. The portion of the rectum becomes knedable after applying oil. Then press it inside the rectum. Put knees together and go to bed, when applying at bedtime. Slowly the cells there develop more cohesive force and projection outside gradually reduces. The astringent property of the oil reduces the projections. The herbal content of the oil make it cooling, pacifying the burning, pitta. Oil portion takes care of Vata. Aswini mudra of yoga also helps, as much as sleeping on right side and Chandra nadi pranayam. These problems minimize substantially, if one takes bastis starting 33rd week from an experienced vaidya. The purpose of bastis here is not a " laxative " but stengthening apana vata, which is helpful for childbirth also. ________________________________ I am in the 9th month of my pregnancy (actually, I am two days overdue, cross your fingers baby is born soon) and I have awful hemorrhoids. Guest guest
have you gained alot of weight? Perhaps after delivery you will feel a lot better. You can mix castor oil and turmeric and put that on the heameroids - it helps to reduce them. I will pray for you as it seems you are in a lot of pain. I hope that once you have the baby the reduction of pressure will be enough to rectify things for you. __________________________ I am in the 9th month of my pregnancy (actually, I am two days overdue, cross your fingers baby is born soon) and I have awful hemorrhoids. Guest guest
I sure have gained a lot of weight. I don't understand why, either. I guess the first 15 lbs was from quitting smoking, and I suppose its better to have gained a little weight from quitting than to have continued with such a bad habit. The pain could be a lot worse, I suppose. Its remarkable how you just learn to live with things. I'm actually more concerned with how it looks and how its probably not very clean most of the time than I am with the pain. I just hope I don't have to get surgery to correct it. Thanks for all the advice though. have you gained alot of weight? Perhaps after delivery you will feel a lot better. Guest guest
the reason i asked about weight gain is because that could be a possible cause of the hemorrhoids. It is extra pressure on the bowel. When you have the baby and lose weight that pressure will be gone. As will the baby's pressure on the bowel. Don't worry, I am sure you will be fine soon. One thing I found with hemorrhoids is that eating hot food and ginger can cause them to bleed more so be aware of that. Keep them coated with turmeric and oil and do regular basti - you can buy an enema bag at medical supply shops. Boil a litre of water with a tbsp of turmeric and let it cool to room temperature. Use this as your enema. __________________________ I sure have gained a lot of weight. I don't understand why, either.
