Guest guest
That was a good experience sharing. I wondor fish, yogurt etc are said to be bad for skin - but you got a good results with fish oil. Any way that says we need not be blind when we instruct. Jay - you need to use laxatives at regular intervels for a complete cure. That will purify your bllood permenantly. ____________________ finally i told my cousin who also suffers from psoriasis and he said that only two things can help in psoriasis. one is fish oil tablets (8-9) per day and second is application of coconut oil. I took his advice and started eating fish oil tablets. in one week, my scalp is clear and skin is as soft as a baby's skin. scaling stopped completely. there is some redness on the leg spots but the scalp spot which was huge extremely huge is gone. Guest guest
after consulting 4 allopathy, 6 ayurveda, 1 homeopathy doctor for my psoriasis, I was about to give up hope on psoriasis. 6 years of depression and suffering from scalp psoriasis and rough skin. i even underwent panchakarma for 20 days in nadiad gujarat which is a famous hospital for ayurveda. very old one. I also met a Kottakal doctor in mumbai. I also went to Dr Naram's clinic in Mumbai - the young ayurveda doctor sitting at Naram's place was a complete fraud. he started writing down around 25-30 things that i could not eat in a hitler style. also he wrote down some 25 medicines. well finally i came back to US after a month's stay in india. the one guy whom i felt was genuine was Kottakal. they do package things very well and also the doctor there gave all the right medicines. he also prescribed wrichita tinchoria oil for outside application. this oil is pretty good for calming psoriasis. finally i told my cousin who also suffers from psoriasis and he said that only two things can help in psoriasis. one is fish oil tablets (8-9) per day and second is application of coconut oil. I took his advice and started eating fish oil tablets. in one week, my scalp is clear and skin is as soft as a baby's skin. scaling stopped completely. there is some redness on the leg spots but the scalp spot which was huge extremely huge is gone. this is the closest to cure that i have experienced in all times. Ayurveda is right when it says that certain herbs can heal. but very few people know what to give to an ailing patient. very few ayurvedic doctor believe that a psoriasis patient can heal. most of the time they prescribe nuclear bomb treatment for year after year when certain small things can bring the change. I am also taken aback at any doctor who says that this condition cannot be cured. or i cannot help you. well why dont you try harder doc, it is your job to provide a cure. anyways where all the doctors failed me. finally i found healing by my self by looking continuesly and eating healthy. A.) Finally for Psoriasis, here is what i do 1.) A multivitamin tablet a day 2.) 8-9 fish oil capsule in a day ******** The most important thing in all activities. fish oil with omega 3, EPA and DHA 3.) Lecithin 2 capsules 4.) probiotics - 2 capsules 5.) Licorice - 2 capsules B.) for mental calmness - i listen to indian classical music by pandit jasraj. this has also helped me a lot. I listed to morning / night ragas by him as per appropriate time. C.) I also do kapalbhati prayama and anulom vilom pranayama in the morning for 10-15 mins on waking up. well in 10 days, I have experienced 70% healing. all the psoriasis spots are now stopped scaling. extremely soft. I am happy and motivated. my life is improved. i dont have to peel my skin all day. my mother / wife dont have to clean the house because of falling scales everywhere everyday. it also allows me more time with my kids. i only wish a ayurveda doctor had tole me about this rather than my cousin who has learned this by experimenting. or some doctor would have told me this so i could have suffered less I request you doctors to share this experience with patients who come to you. please guide them to right food first before any medicine. Any psoriasis patient - if you would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at jaydhruv

Guest guest
Dear Anand, It is a folk-lore impression that fish, yogurt are bad for skin. there is no confirmation to this fact in Ayurveda or modern medicine. If one is suffering from allergic skin disorders and are specifically allergic to fish or yogurt, then these things should be avoided. Guest guest
This is a big big blunder that lots and lots of ayurveda teachers told me. almost everyone. i might have visited the wrong guys. avoid fish or your skin will flare avoid curd - it is not good for psoriasis. avoid dairy completely - chesse etc...... my body was extremely dry from outside and inside. skin was flaring up like hell. the dryness itself is an indication that i need something like oil / milk / curd to nourish me. instead the ayurveda doctors bombarded me with neem and all bitter medicines. further drying. all dry churnas. I am not saying ayurveda is wrong. I am saying that common sense is not common. The greatest teacher should be experience and not it should not be book oriented. what you see and what you experience. Psoriasis by toxins or any disease by toxins is rare as per my understanding. The way body works is too advanced a design that it can be bogged down by foreign elements so fast. I think ayurveda understanding has helped me infinitely. I also am taking curd now... plus probiotics ( digestive enzymes). and fish oil. Before we start injecting medicines to remove any disease, first thing to understand is whether the person eats a regular healthy diet ? An all round diet --- and Body has the superb intelligence to bounce back. rgds Jay muzumdar <dahpc wrote: Dear Anand, It is a folk-lore impression that fish, yogurt are bad for skin. there is no confirmation to this fact in Ayurveda or modern medicine. Guest guest
Software can make a wrong decision. While so many cases of psoriasis have been cured by simple self/cow urine therapy, and even it is tried by westerners, an Indian hunting cure at so many places withot success is unbelievable. see how cow urine therapy for psoriasis is praised e.g. http://www.furtherhealth.com/blog/archives/category/ayurveda/ self urine therapy is so popular in Gujarat, that a directory has been published, wherein successfully cured eczema, psoriasis patients have included their contact addresses and phone. Author himself has posted one case in the archives. ____ after consulting 4 allopathy, 6 ayurveda, 1 homeopathy doctor for my psoriasis, I was about to give up hope on psoriasis. 6 years of depression and suffering from scalp psoriasis and rough skin. i even underwent panchakarma for 20 days in nadiad gujarat which is a famous hospital for ayurveda. very old one. Guest guest
hi jay, for the last 3 or 4 years i have been on this list i have felt like a lone wolf crying in the wilderness when it comes to the importance of essential fatty acids EFA (essential fatty acid) deficiencies are a good example of something that isn't known or discussed in classical ayurveda, and without knowing about this issue, one could never successfully rely solely upon classical Ayurvedic knowledge to correct this problem in ancient India, the issue of EFA balance was mostly accounted for simply through factors present in the traditional diet, and so the more acute and recent issue of EFA deficiency is a reflection of more recent problems, from food production down through manufacturing and packaging i also want to note that your success was due to taking fish oil, rather than a vegetable or seed oil, which is further demonstration of the potency of supplementing directly with EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) - flax, hemp, perilla etc are no where near as biologically active, and are much less efficient when it comes to restoring EFA balance, although are the only option of confirmed vegetarians interestingly, the indication for fish is there in classical application of the doctrine of signatures - scaly skin, eat scaly fish! when it comes to your experience with ayurvedic practitioners, some of the lack of success can be explained by a failure to acknowledge and adapt to new information (as above), but also because many are thinking along allopathic lines, following a list of do's and don'ts for a specific pathology, without seeing _what_ the body is telling them through the doshas if you came to me with dry psoriasis, intensely bitter herbs like neem would not be on my list apart from the EFA deficiency, your liver's capacity to digest and process the nourishing oils may be diminished, and so specific attention to this matter would also be helpful in this case i try to support the liver with a few bitter herbs like daruharidra, oregon grape root or turmeric, but balance these with sweet ones to nourish the skin, like yashtimadhu, or chinese herbs like rehmannia, dang gui and peony root, along with skin restoratives rich in silica like horsetail and oatstraw (which can be taken separately as a tea) in addition, you will probably find further benefit by directly supplementing with vitamins A, C and D, along with key minerals like selenium and zinc (and silica, if you don't drink the teas above) good luck!
