Guest guest
… " be the change you wish to see in the world " Mahatma Gandhi This quote has always stuck with me but, I had never fully understood the meaning until now…. My name is Debbie and I recently became Enlightened/Self Realized. I want to share with you my enlightenment experiences. The awesome realizations I have come to and how my life has changed. Before, I was quite miserable in my life – commuting to work daily and asking myself, What if anything could I do to change things? I felt like giving up, " throwing in the towel " I was very unhappy, overworked, tired, and stressed all of the time. The world just seemed to go at a very fast pace and I was always hurrying to catch up. I thought that perhaps this was it and if it was I really didn't belong here. I saw a program advertised: Enlightenment and Self-Realization by Sutrananda. (More info: www.sutrananda.com <http://www.sutrananda.com/> ) I remember thinking perhaps this program could help me but I had no expectations. I had tried many things to make my life better – exercise, herbs, homeopathy, positive thinking, meditation, and prayer. I took this program and miraculously my life did get better! I experienced the process of enlightenment and in turn came to many self-realizations about myself and about life. Everyday I come to more self-realizations about my life and what it is I am here to do. It's like I awoke from a long nap and now I have the ability to really see myself and life for what it is. I now honour the person that I am and have come to realize that I do not have to try and " fit " anymore with what I thought was expected of me. I am much calmer and relaxed; I no longer hurry about trying to keep up. I just let myself `be " and appreciate all that surrounds me in my life: my husband, pets, friends, family, and the trees in my yard, the deer, birds, and even the rain. I no longer drink, eat meat, or take a second of my life for granted. Everyday I am reminded of the many illusions I allowed myself to get caught up in and as a result my body suffered. I have come to realize my passions and desires are in helping others find the peace that I have found, that inner serenity and quietness of mind. Like Mahatma Gandhi said, " …be the change you wish to see in the world. " Well what I wish to see is peace, compassion, love for all beings and respect for this miraculous planet that we live on. What if I can make a difference? I have already made the conscious decision not to purchase or eat meat, to participate when and whenever I can in supporting the fight to end animal cruelty, sharing my story with you, supporting my Yoga Master Sutrananda with his life's mission to enlighten others so they too can be the change they wish to see. Perhaps all of us together can make this world a better place to live in. I believe we all can make a difference. Guest guest
> > My name is Debbie and I recently became Enlightened/Self Realized. > http://www.sutrananda.com/> ) and apparently all it takes is an $800 course? and then a $3750 teacher training course? but, if you are enlightened in 10 weeks, why the need for an additional teacher training?? unless, of course, this has nothing more to do than getting your fingers " in " and " lightening " somebody's pockets general rule of thumb - don't let the first thing out of your mouth be a statement of your own self-realization false guru test 101 - http://www.energygrid.com/spirit/ap- falsegurutest.html and i leave you with this quote, from " The Truth Is " Sri H.W.L. Poonja, pp 418 - 421: “This is the Kali Yuga, Even Rakshashas (demons) will incarnate as teachers to mislead you. Those who must be destroyed by these demons will be. Test the Guru by the teaching: without inquiry there is no teaching. Shun every teacher who does not teach inquiry. Directly looking at your own face is the only teaching. If the Guru says 'I am enlightened,' it means the ego is enlightened so stay away. Western teachers who say this are preachers so stay away and only write books to load more garbage on seekers, and more money in their pockets. They will attract so many students, but in Kali Yuga it is the falsehood which will draw the crowds. The Truth and the true Gurus will be neglected. If there is a teacher and a student for more than one second then both of them go to avachi hell!” best... todd Caldecott, Dip. Guest guest
> Are we still in Kali Yuga? according to shri poonaji at least, and classical interpretations most sources indicate that the kali yuga started 3102 BCE with the death of krishna and is stated to last 432,000 years i know yukteswar and frawley calculate a much shorter time period and say we are in the dwapara yuga, but i am not sure how much support they have for their views outside of westerners and western-inclined hindus that simultaneously herald the age of aquarius according to yukteswar the dwapara yuga began with the european enlightenment, but i fail to see how our society has progressed since then - maybe in some ways in has, in others, demonstrably not - one just needs to read the news to see how precarious our world is - we are walking a razor's edge you can read for yourself about the kali yuga in the mahabharata http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m03/m03189.htm for me, i take all this kind of stuff with a couple grains of saindhava! too much consideration and then we have to deal with some uncomfortable issues around culture, race and gender kali or dwapara yuga, we have to make the best of our lives, using both our heart and head and both tell me that spiritual liberation isn't something to be bought and sold best...
