Guest guest
Dear all, I'm a last year Ayurvedic Practitioner student from Belgium, and I'm working on a project concerning hair problems: I have to compare the different viewpoints (allopathic, Chinese, orthomolecular,.etc.) and then (hopefully) prove that the Ayurvedic viewpoint is the most relevant. I found quite some info about the commonly used herbs (Bringraj, brahmi, amla, .), but I'm still missing some detailed info about the energetics of the different hair problems, like f.e. hair loss. How can we Ayurvedically explain f.e. the 'male pattern' hair loss, other than saying 'it's genetic' ? Does any of you know about some good text or site on internet where this is being described or where I could find more relevant info about hair problems. Thanks Wim
Guest guest
Wim, have you gone to the " message " or " Home " page on website of this list and typed " hair loss " in the search slot? Guest guest
the " male pattern hair loss " , if i understand corectly what u mean, is a pitta problem. the most simplistic way to explain it is that testosteron is a " hot " hormone. hair s the upa-dhatu of asthi, " the bones " . a problem with hair also reflect a problem of this dhatu or the agni of this dhatu. should think of the healthy, normal state of this dhatu, its subtile function and the pathological state of it, and make some connections. this subject is too big to be analised in a mail. ayurveda gives us a hudge amount of info, we cannot have it all unless we have an " elephant memory " . usually only some of this info fits the space of our mind, but it also gives us a manner of understanding the phenomena and we can use the " ayurvedic thinking " to deduce what we need. __________________________ I'm still missing some detailed info about the energetics of the different hair problems, like f.e. hair loss.
