Guest guest
Hello, Does anyone know about lymphedema(not sure of spelling.) a friends mother(approx mid 70's)seems to have lost use in her arms. I've not heard of it before. Is this immune disorder? What can be done? Thank you, Rick
Guest guest
people get lymphodaema after excision of lymph nodes after cancer surgery - but i guess blocked lymph glands give the same result - - has your friend's mother had cancer treatment? Guest guest
Dear Rick, Lymphedema can be classified as Shotha or Visarpa according to presenting symptoms. Mostly it is due to the swelling of lymph channels due to infections, trauma or due to cancer. If cancer is not the cause, Leech therapy is the preferred treatment. Lepa (poultice) is also useful according to clinical condition.
