Guest guest
Namaste friends, I hope all is well. I desperately need some help please. I have been searching for the best ayurvedic center in India to help me with weight loss/general wellness and have come across LOTS of sites and information but would feel more comfortable getting suggestions from people who have actually visited them or know about them through friends. I am a 31 year old female who has had health issues my whole life. I started gaining weight at the age of 6 and was overweight by the time I was 8 years old (not due to overeating). Not a day has gone by since that I have not been majorly overweight. I have many odd symptoms in addition to being overweight. Three years ago, I did some research and realized I was insulin resistant...through cutting out refined grains/sugars and exercising several hours daily, I was able to lose 60 pounds but then I plateaued, went through major periods of fatigue, and eventually gained most of it back. I am about 5 feet 9 inches tall and now 300 pounds (136 kg) so I would like to lose about half my body weight (or whatever I decide is best for my body). In addition to being insulin resistant, I am pre- diabetic. I was recently told by a naturopath that I have toxic levels of mercury in my body and that my pituitary gland is not functioning properly. I am Indian by ethnicity...my parents were born and raised in India but I was born and raised in Texas (I continue to live there). I would like a long-term stay (90-120+ days) to finally become well. I am extremely serious and want a place that is very treatment heavy...I don't want a vacation. I want to find the best treatments available. I would prefer a package that is all-inclusive (lodging, meals, treatments). I heard about INYS (http://www.inysonline.org) but they have a strict weight limit and you can only stay for 40 days so that will not work for me at this time. I have also looked at the Ayurveda Retreat (http://www.ayurveda.org/) and was leaning toward that as it looks very nice but it is quite expensive for me($3599 monthly, all- inclusive). Also, I wonder about how much treatment time I would get on a daily basis. The good thing about the place is that it limits guests to about 25 people. I would really appreciate comments on this place if anyone has them. I just found the Ayurvedic Natural Health Center in Goa and it looks nice (and is much cheaper at about $1800 monthly). They say that I could get treatment for 2.5 hours a day which sounds wonderful. Comments on this place would be appreciated as well. I would be so thrilled and grateful to hear back from you all. Thank you in advance for your kindness and may you all be healthy and happy. Best, LightUponLight
