Dear mazumdar gestational diabetes is complicated because it

involves two hearts(douhridi). If type II NIDD that can be

controled by the regular measures like oral medications controlled

diet, and easy exsercise. As far as the drugs are concerned the

simple Ayurvedic remedies like Nisha amalaki vati and jambwasava in

the divided doses can help te case. However regular monitoring is

the way out for these patients.

Dear Dattatreya,

You should go thro' other mails on this topic to get a better perspective.

Even though the medicines you have mentioned ie Nisha amalaki vati and

Jambwasava are correct, they are not available even all over India. How can we

expect that these medicines will be available in foreign countries. Besides , I

have purposefully restrained myself from prescribing any medicine, as there are

all chances that patient could experiment with them, sometimes to detrimental

effects, particularly when diabetes and pregnancy are together.
