Guest guest
Dear All, I have started taking morning walks for the past week or so...My daily routine is that I wake up, brush my teeth, get dressed and leave for my walk....My father in law, however, makes sure he has a cup of tea before leaving for his walk....I didnt understand the connection although... Is it that we should not go for walk on an empty stomach or we should have something warm before going for a walk? What should one take after coming back for the walk? The idea of taking a walk in my case is that I got my blood sugar examined a few days ago at a random camp, it was 115 and I am over weight by about 11kgs for my frame, hence I was asked to go for brisk walks.... I am a bit clueless about the warm drink and walk connection! Would appreciate and request that this post not be seen as " just another post " ....Would request a kind revert and more insights Thanks Bhairvi
Guest guest
After studying your old postings and taking them together with your present querry, it can be said that this aspect including diet to loose some weight is addressed in http://health.ayurveda/message/9051 Fenugreek water after returning from walk is OK if you do not feel the hunger. The wisdom of not eating anything till feeling hunger is a great tip for loosing weight. A 54 year old grandma, weighing 94 kg, lost 21 kg in a matter of 18 months by walking, eating only usual lunch and evening 6 pm she took only one wheat roti (Khakhara in Gujarathi language). That is all. Most of the fat mass was lost from hips and belly area. Truncal obesity is often used name for this. Regarding your father-in-law, why he needs tea before going for a walk is his sugar goes low for walking. If he was a smoker, this generally is the result, typically for Pitta dominant constitutions. Being a mixture of Agni and air fundamental principles, these persons produce enough energy by digesting carbs as well as proteins rapidly, but they use it also fast. excess heat produced can affect their anger, brain activity, eyes and liver. acidity, ulceration, skin problems (erruptions, inflamations), irritability, oily skin and thining of hair (early baldness) are general signs of these persons. [Not a rule but general observations based on medical astrology] they should keep themselves away from excess worries, anxiety, spicy foods, sunlight, antibiotics and intoxicants. Early morning walk on wet (dew) grass very beneficial. They benifit from taking juice of fresh sweet fruits first thing in early morning. Elderlies especially like the mixture of Phaphda (sorry no english name for this) and Jalebi in breakfast. If hungry, take roasted bengal gram (Chana-sing) and nuts at other times of day. Chandra pranayam (allowing only left nostrils to inhale and right to exhale) will also help him. ________________________________ >...My father in law, however, makes sure he has a > cup of tea before leaving for his walk....I didnt understand the > connection although... Guest guest
hi, bhairvi concerning the blood sugar problem you already recieved grate advices, so i will try to answer your other question abou tea. fluids r very important for health, about this u can check a study that was posted by someone in this group regarding treatment of many severe diseases only by... drinking water. no matter your type, starting your day with fluids intake is a healthy habbit, and tea also tastes good . u r concerned about blood sugar, so u can drink warm water instead of tea, or even tea without addind sugar / honney. this will have many good effects (u will see from that message) but an important one is re-balancing vata dosha which will help in keeping your parameters constant. _____________ My father in law, however, makes sure he has a cup of tea before leaving for his walk.... Guest guest
According to yoga, the noon meal should be the main meal. The sun is at it's highest point in the sky and the agni should also be at it's highest point since it is ruled by the sun.
