Guest guest
I just joined a book of the month club called One Spirit and ordered The Crystal Bible as one of my five books. It was $.40 with a new enrollment. Of course, you have to buy two or three full price books over the next year, but they had a wonderful selection, inc. Wayne Dyers new book, Power of Intention, which I have been salivating over for a few weeks now. :-) I think the site address is joinspiritone.com, but I am not certain. If you really want to know, I can find link. Guest guest
I have this... looked at it once and put it back on the shelf until 5 minutes ago. Pretty badly done. The best are the 2-3 page Western Medicine descriptions of diseases with a page or two of formulas. The herbs are listed not even by Pinyin or Latin but in those odd English common (or not so common) names. If someone gives it to you, OK, otherwise not worth the shipping cost. Cover picture is notable for that unique TCM retro look. doug , " " <@h...> wrote: > Has anyone read this book: > > Integrating Chinese and Western Medicine -A Handbook for > Practitioners- English > by Zhang Junwen, Bai Yongquan, Chen Longshun > Foreign Language Press, Beijing, 1993 > > Worth getting? > > -

By the way, I found a company in Jerusalem which works with custom herb granules, should you ever need them for friends or family. Guest guest
I would like to share what some of the reviewers said about me new book Foundations for Integrative Musculoskeletal Medicine, An East-West Approach is the most comprehensive book I have ever read on treatment of musculoskeletal conditions from any perspective. An acupuncturist who masters the material presented in this book will be a master practitioner. This should be the required text for the doctoral programs in acupuncture orthopedics. David Wells, DC, Lac, MA (psyche), MS (nutrition) Past President, California Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Founder and past President of the Center for Oriental Medicine Research and Education Past President of the Council of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Associations Founder and Past President of Acupuncture Provider Network Past Medical Director of Landmark Healthcare Through his text, Foundations for Integrative Musculoskeletal Medicine, An East-West Approach, Alon Marcus provides other healthcare practitioners (and interested public) exactly what he seeks to provide for his patients - balance. This is a balanced text. East meets west. Orthodox meets alternative. Somatic meets visceral. It manages to blend systems in a way that is useful to those who understand and value concept of philosophic models. The text provides a vehicle to transport understanding across professional degree boundaries and to introduce key concepts about the impact of the musculoskeletal system in diagnosis and treatment in a user-friendly fashion. Its even-handed overview of several healthcare systems welcomes readers with differing backgrounds to " come aboard " and comfortably absorb the new vistas presented without ever taking them too far from their respective homes. Significantly more than a " how-to manual, " this text offers insight built upon foundational concepts and promotes a deeper understanding of the many ways in which health may be encouraged. It interweaves practical advice with evidence-based data. It builds a foundation in one world while deftly bridging to another. It summarizes and encapsulates extensive specific data in tables that leave the reader free to grasp the concept being presented or the busy clinician to use as a time-effective resource. In short, with this text Alon Marcus has made a major contribution to the healthcare field. He has deftly blended many of the best concepts and approaches offered by oriental, orthopaedic, and osteopathic medical practitioners into a vision of understanding the whole patient through the clues provided. The author doesn't promise nor force a single " integrative musculoskeletal medicine " approach upon us; instead, he delivers an excellent foundation to improve how we choose to practice. What more can one ask for from a text? Michael L. Kuchera DO, FAAO Professor, Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine , Human Performance & Biomechanics Laboratory Past President, American Academy of Osteopathy This new book by Alon Marcus is clearly the culmination of decades of practice, study, and deep thought on the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Clinicians will appreciate the immense utility of the text and thinkers will enjoy Marcus's well-considered correlation between Eastern and Western medical physiology. While the book draws upon an eclectic range of ideas, it does so while remaining true to Chinese medical principles. Much attention is devoted to rectifying the actual causes of disease and understanding the development of chronic musculoskeletal problems in the context of TCM theory. Thus, unlike other books on this topic which focus mainly on the immediate or palliative relief of pain, Marcus's book takes it a step further. His integrative approach to musculoskeletal therapy endeavors to actually correct these conditions at both the root and branch. While this is mostly a book about acupuncture, manual, and mechanical therapies, Marcus also provides one of the more extensive discussions of the use of herbal medicine in impediment and other pain syndromes. This book is certainly poised to be an important and vital text as Oriental medicine moves into mainstream of pain management in America BS, MacOM, Lac Professor, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine Founder and Chinese Herbs This book is a continuation of superb scholarly work. Detailed material is presented in an easy-to-read format that includes the evaluation and treatment of common conditions encountered in the practitioner's office. A must-have for anyone wishing to take their clinical skills to the next level. Kevin McNamee, DC, Lac Adjunct Faculty California State University Northridge Adjunct Faculty Southern California University of Health Sciences , California Health Institute Through his text, Foundations for Integrative Musculoskeletal Medicine, An East-West Approach brings together a very well organized and systematic synthesis of principles of musculoskeletal medicine and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This should easily become a standard teaching text for all students of acupuncture who wish to have a clearer understanding of how TCM integrates into contemporary Western medical science, thus providing a broader working knowledge of these two paradigms in effectively treating neuromusculoskeletal problems. Guest guest
I had whiplash and corresponding headaches in about 1995. My friend had read the book and I am convinced that she cured me of the pain by using cottage cheese and flax seed oil. I ate a lot of it with her encouragement. She would also do a few pressure points on my arms. I would love to find a copy of the book. I didn't realize that it was still around. I think she bought it at a pharmacy in Canada. She also cured a lymphoma tumor in her own neck gland with olive oil and a cabbage leaf (over several months)and I would love to fine the book that recommended that treatment. If anyone is familiar with that, please let me know.
