Guest guest
Theoretically speaking, if a person were taking Plavix which is an allopathic blood thinner and wanted to go with something more herbal would arjuna and maybe garlic or gingko be a good choice? Not theoretically speaking now, I don't like the way the stuff changes the color of my blood; my cardiologist said I could get off it last time I couldn't afford it (expensive); I have had good results with other herbal stuff in the past and I think it is time to take the plunge. If I quit the Plavix, I can also quit the Prevacid which I take so my stomach won't hurt from the Plavix. I read some medical report once that said that the proton pump inhibitors don't reduce morbidity or mortality, so therefore I have the impression that they are basically making one comfortable while the drugs eat up your stomach. I have been taking the Plavix because I got on it 2 years ago when I got the stent; the stent is working great, no angina, of course it didn't get rid of the heart disease; they don't, but it has made life less painful. I don't want to be like the foolish old friend of mine who decided not to take her diabetes meds and died soon after, but I feel like I will be safer taking more responsibility for myself and Plavix is a very new drug. I am aware that the drug eluting stents are having some problems but I am not sure that staying on Plavix the rest of my life is the answer. I already take aspirin and too many NSAIDS and the Plavix on top of that is asking for trouble as I see it. Also, ayurvedically I think all this would help fix my digestion. I am seeking some opinions but not medical advice because basically I know what I am going to do; I am just deciding what would be the best way to do it. I don't think that just getting off the Plavix is necessarily best either; I had some nasty experiences in the past when stopping allopathic drugs (SSRI's). Maybe a middle path of some herbs to adjust my blood for awhile while it gets used to being without the Plavix. Anyway, just seeking some opinions like I said. Guest guest
I am not qualified to advise you what herbs to take, but I can tell you that you can not stop allopathic meds without fortifying your system with herbs first. They need to be slowly removed over many months while slowly introducing herbs. Stopping instantly would certainly not be good for you. _________ Theoretically speaking, if a person were taking Plavix which is an allopathic blood thinner and wanted to go with something more herbal would arjuna and maybe garlic or gingko be a good choice?
