Guest guest
Dear members, I'm about to promote ayurveda, in the Aland Islands of Finland, to local health professionals. These people wonder if there are any studies which can be evidence based in ayurveda, so they can get a firmer grip on ayurveda and it's effectiveness. Evidence based I think means, to these people, studies which follow the western medicine paradigm of doing research with tests which can be measured, tested and verified by different people in different locations. I guess any study will do as long as it is promoting ayurveda. Means that it could be about plants, pancakarma or you name it, as long as you could connect the word ayurveda to it. I have myself started to look around but if anyone knows where to find these kind of studies and/or can point me a direction to look, I would be most happy. Yours Sincerely, Kristian
Guest guest
Dear Dr.Kristian, Well , your point is quite interesting & valid too ! You will be surprised to know that there are hundreds of students are doing there post graduation Degree like M.D.(Ayurveda) or M.S.(Ayurveda ) or Ph.D. (Ayurveda) with a specific research topic with a carefully planned protocol & planned clinical studies or it might involve lab studies / studies in expt. pharmacology concerned with Ayurvedic drugs / therapies. I will send you ref. of certain such work in next few days ! You may start with reviewing certain bibliographic work on different topics concerning Ayurveda ! Please go thro' my site www.ayurvision , visit Ayurvision bulletin to see certain articles on similar topic. With warm regards, Dr.Aashish Phadke,Mumbai,INDIA
Guest guest
Re evidence based studies: I am interested in doing research on this- there are some studies in BMJ and JAMA that were referenced by Dr Nagendra of SVYASA in Bangalore - I will try to find those and forward them on the group. thanks
