Guest guest
HI, My daughter 4 1/2 tends to fall sick with fever and then develops a cold and cough, sometimes vice versa. Everytime she is left with a cough which doesn't seem to go away. I have given her milk with turmeric, even with black pepper, palam kalkandu. But they don't seem to work. Boiled tulsi water helps for sometime, then it comes back. She gets wheezing as well sometimes if she comes in contact with heavy dust or cement. Can you help me help her out. Should somethings be added to her diet to make her stronger to these issues.
Guest guest
The root cause of thesr allergic type reactions is to be found in vaccines given in childhood as well as reduced length of mothers milk and switch to formula or semi-solids earlier. the vaccines corrupt immune system in such a manner that it can not tolerate some kind of dust, pollen etc. Tiny tots are given vaccines when their immune systems are immature. As a result of corrupted immune system, low fever, sneezing, cough, whizzing, cold, skin rashes, itching eczema, etc are the symptoms which can be noted every two months or so. Inadequate digestion of early solid foods is also one reason. The treatment of such children needs to be divided in two parts. when the attack comes, the immune system can be strengthened by giving mixture of Mahalaxmivilas Ras, Suvarana Vasant Malti and Swaskas chintamani ras in honey. These are strong medicines and may take only under supervision of your Vaidya. The dosage should be decided by him. The herbal tea of Tulsi and Mint can be added twice a day to the protocol. This type of cough does not get controlled by other churnas like Sitopaladi, talisadi etc. Only effective formulation is Kantakari Avaleha. 1 tsp twice a day can be given for children 5-12 years old. Digestion (Agni) is the main front which needs to be attacked. Shankhvati, Manjista Kalpa, Abhayarishta, kanakasava, Somasava are useful but choice should be left to Vaidya. Even taking Draksharishta 2 tsp with equal water will help digestion and reduce ama. It is ama which acts as catalyst for cough. If nose is getting blocked, Anu taila 2 drops in each nostril at bedtime helps. Neem/karanj Tail on itching eczema regions helps to sleep better. For long range immune system strength, giving Brihat/Laghu Vasant Malti for 3 months along with Agni enhamcing herbs is suggested. Children with cardiac insufficiency also suffer similarly. Hence it is essential that you visit neighbourhood vaidya and let him make the choice of treatment. What is written here is just indicative of possible options for vaidyas and patients. Older vaidyas will make their own formulations to suit each specific child. Avoiding sweets, refined sugar, white floor (Maida), curd, shreekhand, bakery products, genetically modified wheat, processed food packets available in attractive packings, ice cream, cakes, other bakery products will be a helpful strategy. Green leafy vegetables or their soups with mild spices to take care of mineral deficiencies will also help. Many children in age group 3-8 years could get over these allergy problems using variation of above protocol. they had come to ayurveda after trying allopathic anti-biotics and immuno-suppresants for a long time. Treating innocent children is a very pleasant experience for vaidya. ayurveda , " kpdmi " <kpdmi wrote: > My daughter 4 1/2 tends to fall sick with fever and then develops a > cold and cough, sometimes vice versa.
