hi mohan

on the balance the medication suggests a pitta problem, but from your

description your issue sounds more like vata to me

also, the dosages seem way large too large to me - i don't think i

have EVER recommended a 100 g of any herb or formula at one sitting,

let alone with five other formulas...!

from my estimation, you seem to be suffering from reactive

hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and this is affecting your concentration

this is a vata problem mostly caused by the insulin response to

eating highly processed " white " foods

rice, idli, dosa are all made nowadays with refined grains, and these

rapidly digesting carbs don't provide adequate nutrition or balanced

blood sugar levels

a light diet like this will promote constipation and increase vata

one measure is to add lots more leafy green vegetables, preferably

steamed or lightly stir-fried, into your diet (twice daily), prepared

with a little fat and mild flavors

to balance blood sugar and enhance concentration, i would increase

your protein/fat content in your diet, particularly in the beginning

portion of the day

for e.g., 2-3 scrambled eggs in the morning prepared with some greens

would probably have significant benefits - your case history suggests

that you are not a good candidate for a strict vegetarian approach,

esp. since you are not eating any dairy

the higher protein content in the morning will have a balancing

effect on your blood sugar, and this will promote and enhance mental

concentration

while herbal medications and bhasmas have their uses, the first

approach is to start with diet

something to consider - a bowel movement is 80% by volume bacteria

when we have constipation, its often a reflection of a diminished

bacterial ecology, which isn't helped by purgatives because they work

to forcibly remove this bacteria - hence, you become dependent upon

laxatives

whole grain fibers such as flax or hemp seed, 1 tbsp fresh ground

into a coarse powder and stirred into a glass of water and taken

twice daily will help provide your bowel with the fibers necessary to

promoting a healthy gut ecology - just make sure you drink at least 1

liter of water daily, between meals

in addition, we often recommend some form of probiotic, at least

initially - these you might find in supplemental form (i.e.

acidophilus, bifidus), but can also be had by eating the whey (water)

from curd, blue cheese, and naturally fermented unpasteurized pickles

and vinegar on a semi-regular basis

these are a couple of the recommendations i would likely make if you

lived here in canada - if you are india, perhaps someone can help

modify the basic intent of my suggestions so they are suitable to you

and your specific situation

best...
