Guest guest
Dear Dr.Muzumdar, Thanks for previous post regarding Chayawanprash. It was an eye opener. I have the problem of joints cracking. My elbow joints are the ones that crack more often than other joints. If I dont voluntarily let my elbow joints crack I feel some sort of discomfort ,but so far I havent felt any pain in any of the joints. Its become a habit to cracking my joints now and I feel embarassed by it.Is this something that needs treatment? As always ,thank you for your valuable contributions in this forum. Regards, Pradeep
Guest guest
Dear Pradeep, Cracking of joints once or twice a day after heavy work-load on joints is considered normal. If it occurs more frequently, then your joints are coming under the influence of increased Vata Dosha. The most elementary and simple thing is to apply oil externally to your cracking joints till the oil keeps on absorbing from the surface of skin. Any vegetable source oil available locally would do. But Ayurveda advocates the use of Til (Sesame) oil as the best. Do not wash off the oil applied part for atleast 45 minutes. This will give you good benefits. Don't wait for the joints to pain. Many times body gives us some indications long time before the disease sets in. If we are alert enough to listen to our body language, we can keep many health problems at bay. All the thanks are to my teachers who showed me the path of correct vision and judgement. Yours, Dr.D.B.Muzumdar M.D.Ayurvedic Medicine, INDIA < dahpc > __________________ <snip> My elbow joints are the ones that crack more often than other joints. If I dont voluntarily let my elbow joints crack I feel some sort of discomfort ,but so far I havent felt any pain in any of the joints. Guest guest
Pradeep, The oil massage suggested to you by Dr. Muzumdar will definitely help you. Use oil in warm condition if possible. Best time: an hour before bath and half an hour after sunset. Check if the skin on the outside of elbow joint has darkened to brownish or blackish color. Try touching your closed fist to shoulder joint and see if any tension/stiffness. Vata walks at the speed of saturn, and gives only as much pain as the patient can withstand, when it advances. It is hard teacher, asking patient to improve his ways! It would be prudent to look at the root cause of the condition also. You yourself may be able to locate the cause in your lifestyle, diet or environmnet as suggested at: http://health.ayurveda/message/5940 ayurveda , " pradeepjr " <pradeepg wrote: I have the problem of joints cracking.
