>About vaidya advising skin specialist opinion

1) Do you mean to say that diagnosis has no value while treating the patient,

even if it is a small baby? Do you mean to say that you should just go on

experimenting for the sake of your Ayurvedic ego? A doctor / vaidya should first

care about the patient's well-being. I don't hate medical persons of allopathy.

2) How can you accuse a skin specialist blankly as using steroid creams for all

and sundry? It would mean that your knowledge and understanding about skin

diseases and skin specialists is very limited and biased.

>About using the word " dermatitis "

It is the general term and actually means skin inflammation and not skin

irritation. Irritation is the result of inflammation. Do you know that

uncontrolled skin infection can cause septicaemia and sometimes can also lead to

kidney failure. Do you care more for the baby or your own Ayurvedic knowledge?

Do you want to put the baby to this risk just to push forward the word of Your

Ayurvedic version?

>About steroids

Steroids have to be used when body's own defense systems cannot get rid of

diseases with help of standard medication - herbal or otherwise. Steroids used

judiciously are life-saving drugs. Nothing to hate about them. This is one more

misplaced bias about them by herbalists. If you are in serious medical condition

/ life-threatening medical situation, steroids will be the first to save you.

Try to respect other pathies also, including allopathy. They too were born out

of necessity of this present civilisation. AND who told you that steroid creams

cause trouble to the baby's delicate skin?

Lastly, my sincere advice to all the enthusiastic members of this group who are

more interested in jumping to treatment advise is - Many problems need personal

attention of a medical expert by means of actual examination. They cannot be

solved by indirect and trial methods like this question and answer session, more

so true in skin diseases.

I am surprised to see a vaidya telling some one to go to a skin specialist

where they will recieve steroid creams to a pply to the delicate skin of a baby.

As a vaidya how can you suggest going to a skin specialist?

Just curious.

i do agree that steroids etc have thier place.

but i also know that i have been to enough doctors and

have seen many experiences where drugs do not help as

well as simple herbs, yoga, foods do.

I too would not tell some one not to take steroids if

there was a threat to life.

In my personal experience though, often herbs help

without side effects.

I do agree though that giving advice without seeing

the patient is not responsible especialy in the case

of small or very ill people..

You are correct in saying that trying to diagnose over

the internet rather than sending some one to a skin

specialist is not responsible.

Skin disease is very close to home for me because my

daughter has leukoderma and I have seen first hand

the effects that steroids have had on her and am not

too happpy.

On the other hand , I have seen people's lives saved

by them.

Everything that is created has a purpose, but should

be used with decernment and clarity to avoid risk and

to bring harmony and peace.
