Confusion - Vata shonit or Sandhigat Vata?

I happened to see a patient of 50yrs with knee pain,

who has a history of ankle joint pain few months,along

with burning sensation on legs and having an xray of a

knee showing degeneration, what will be our diagnosis.

According to Ayurveda this disease is taken as Vata

shonit because the pain started from the legs and due

to burning sensation. Will the degeneration of bone

subside when we treat vata shonit. Or should we give

sandi gata vata chikitsa instead. Or should we neglect

the x ray findings. Also the treatment for both

diseases are to be opposite to each other. Please

explain...
