Skin is the mirror of health and several tips for keeping skin in

good condition were provided in a post " Ayurvedic Beauty Parlour "

YOur baby may have allergy to detergent residue in clothes. You may

check this by just dipping the clothes in hot water for 20-30 minutes

for a few days and not using any detergent at all. SEcond source of

allergen could be baby oils. Check if replacing them by cow ghee or

shatdhout ghee solves the problem of rash.

Following wetpack for bath is recommended.

¼ tsp ordinary turmeric powder,

Mysore gram floor 2 tsp,

Lime peel powder ½ tsp,

a tsp of Amba Haldi Powder ( another variety of turmeric powder

specifically used in cosmetics),

honey 1 tsp,

half lime fruit juice,

milk cream ½ tsp and

a little milk

Mix all items together well and wait for 5-10 minutes before using it

on baby. after applying to all skin, let the pack be absorbed for 10

minutes. Wash with warm water or cold water.

This pack has a balance of cleansing nourishing ingredients. Green

gram floor can be substituted for Mysore gram floor. Also, instead of

milk cream, 1/2 tsp almond oil can be used. Skin, if well lubricated,

skin scales or itching does not occur. Dry skin needs fats, and

coconut oil, almond oil, olive oil are all wonderful lubricators.

The referred link has recommendation for herbal hair shampoo as well.

Thank you. I tried ghee but his body breaks out with rashes with that

too.. I tried johnsons baby oil, olive oil & coconut and all have same

problem.. Finally I am just using besan & turmeric during bath and I

heard from a friend that aveeno baby soothing relief moisture cream

reduces the scales and I tried that and he is not breaking out with

that. It seems lot of people have good review about it..

Working one time in an allergy unit I used on a patient's skin the foods she

was proved not to be allergic to which were oats and avocado - ground into a

paste they worked wonderfully well and her skin cleared before the day was

out - if your child tolerates avocado - why not make a mayonnaise with

whatever he can tolerate orally including the avocado and apply and rinse

off with water - I like avocado as it seems cooling and oily at the same

time - what sort of milk does he tolerate? You can use that too on the

skin - what he will tolerate internally he should tolerate externally too

You can wash clothes using baking soda.
