Guest guest
If you live in North America you need to be washing the baby clothes separate from adults in baby detergent and hanging them to dry if possible in the sun will help if not - that is okay but baby detergent is a must. Tide is too strong Babies need to be oiled every day with sesame or mustard+sesame oil to keep their skin moist - they have just come out of a il-liquid environment. I have found that after oiling the application of mung dal paste with a bit of turmeric is useful. This should be applied to the entire body and head of the baby and let dry for a few minutes - then the baby can be washed with plain warm water. babies DO NOT NEED SOAP. They also do not need baby oil or powder. These clog pores. Baby oil is mineral oil and can not be absorbed by the body use only unrefined oil. This is pretty important. A bit of cradle cap is normal for some children, but this is the best way to acclimatize your child to his new world. By the age of nine months the dry skin usually resolves, but to keep your child healthy oil application is very important. Applying oil to the head when the soft spots are still open allows oil absorption by the brain this is very important. The oil becomes food for the brain. It provides nourishment and soothes the nerves. This is a gift all children certainly desrve! healthtradi <healthtradi wrote: --- priyankadeven <no_reply wrote: > 1) I am wondering if there is any natural way ayurveda has to clean > baby clothes? Guest guest
I have not tried sesame oil. I will test sesame oil on a small areas and see what are the results with that. So far most oils have brought out the rash all over.. I have also heard about almond oil but not tried that. You mentioned about applying oil to the head for the soft spots.. should this be everyday and should the head be massaged? The baby usually turns on the right side to sleep and his head is flat on the right side..I am wondering now how to make the head shape normal? Can you suggest how to massage the head? I am usually doing basic exercise like touching toes to head and moving hands up and down.. Is there anything else to do? Thank you so much to everyone who is responding to my questions. ayurveda , mandv m <mandakiniven wrote: > > If you live in North America you need to be washing the baby clothes separate from adults in baby detergent and hanging them to dry if possible in the sun will help if not - that is okay but baby detergent is a must<snip>
Guest guest
I've read a few of these posts and thought to offer a comment. It sounds like there may be an internal allergy causing the external issues. If the baby is on breast milk only, mother may need to look at her diet to see what influence are there that are causing the issue. Also, if baby is externally having drying problems, mom may need to adjust her diet so that the oils are coming internally from her, from a healthy source. 2. if baby is not only on breast milk, but other formulas it seems like the babies agni is low, and having issue with the general process of digestion and retaining moisture. Please look at babies food and digestion and possibly see what can be done there. you do not want to manipulate the babies head in any way. use a car seat carrier or other object if the baby rolls to the side. you can also purchase a no roll system for the baby so that he/she is not able to roll onto the right side to sleep. Sids is best prevented if baby is on back during sleep. Also, the head flatness may not be just from sleeping, watch when leaving the baby in car seat, baby swing, etc. to much time with any hard surface will cause the deformity. Holding the baby until he/she has head and neck control and ensuring they are not laying/siting in the same position for to long are things that need to be considered. However the head should return to normal as the baby has more neck and head control. I have to look this up or maybe someone else can comment but Neem oil is used in acne and skin diseases quite often. It cools the inflammation. Also, Emu oil is said to have gentle and healing benefits as well as Jojoba oil. Most clients that have a sensativty to nut based oils do okay with any of these listed. You may also check your water source to ensure it is not to hard or to soft. To check the chlorine content in the water. It may be more than just cloths. The water it's self can be drying if the chemical used to purify it are not regulated correctly or there is a mineral in the water that is affecting the skin. Just some more thoughts. priyankadeven <no_reply > I have not tried sesame oil. I will test sesame oil on a small areas and see what are the results with that. Guest guest
In spite of several replies for the simple issue, i here would like to mention a simple and effective remedy which, i have not only used for my children but also, recommended to many of my friends and relatives. As far as my information concerns there is no unwanted effects found so far after using this. Thought this may helpful to the needed. Equal parts of coconut oil,Castor oil,Pure cow ghee are to be mixed and used as massage and a spoon to be placed over the vertex of the baby and tapped for few min. Guest guest
It is common for babies heads to get mishapen. They correect themselves. Imagine the number of adults you have seen with flat heads! Probably none! The babies head is soft and so when he is laying only on one side the shape becomes falt. Once the baby is able to crawl the head shape will improve. Castor oil can be applied daily to the soft spot. priyankadeven <no_reply > wrote: <snip> You mentioned about applying oil to the head for the soft spots.. should this be everyday and should the head be massaged?
