hi

since this subject was opened, i have a question too. it refers to patients with

cancer, using chimiotherapy. the naturist treatment involves plants wich are

reducing the toxins in the body, while the chimiotherapic treatment is very

toxic and it's effect consists in their cito-toxicity. the logical conclusion

would be that detoxifying plants are reducing the efficiency of allopathic

treatment. how is it actually? till now i recomanded plants in between sessions

of chimiotherapy and not during them. is it right? what should i do?

______________

In fact, Ayurvedic medicines have no conflict with any other system of healing,

even allopathy. I have observed that most of the times, Ayurvedic medicines

enhance the beneficial effects of other medicines or activities.................

I have read a lot about using essential oils during

treatment to reduce nausea and pain during treatment.

Dear Cristina,

Ayurvedic medicines generally do not act by antagonism, as you think in regards

to cytotoxic treatment in cancer.

If that was the case, medicines causing Kapha, which are cold in nature, should

have relieved Pitta and also increased Vata by virtue of it's cold property. But

such things do not occur. Otherwise it would have been very difficult to treat.

Ayurvedic medicines, if taken with cytotoxic cancer drugs, will infact protect

the healthy tissues from the damaging effects of such drugs. But more clinical

studies and research is needed to prove this.

Till then, you may use Ayurvedic medicines concurrently without doubt and fear.

I refrain to give my opinion about other herbs not mentioned in Ayurveda, as I

have no working experience with them.

thank you for reply.

indeed, here we are using also local plants which are not mentioned in

ayurveda. some of them have an indian equivalent and they are almost similar to

them, but there are small differences given by different soil composition,

weather and subtil athmosphere they grow from. we import some of the plants from

india, but they seem different each time, most of the time small differences but

sometimes big ones, like warming effect in a plant which was suppose to be cold.

(maybe they are collected in a different moment or our suplyers are not to be

trusted). we also use that NONI which doesn't grow in our country and those

mushrooms from China and Japan (shiitake and reishi)
