Guest guest
Thanks for posting a real life experience. while religious texts or ayurveda are permissive, one should make the choice best suited to his constitution. Good digestive fire of Rajas dominated persons will get satisfied by protein rich meat, while a Satvik may produce only toxins out of this, as his gastric juices may not be capable of denaturing meat. it is well known in all health circles that we are made by our mother nature, environment. All our habits, beliefs are made by what we inherited from parents and our childhood surroundings. The impatience, inability to accomodate other's opinion, all enter through mind and take action through glands. Most criminals have disturbed, sad childhood. Despite all this, prakruti can change, when our brain is flexible to be moulded by surroundings. On the other hand, mind is flexible, can get moulded later too. Have you ever thought what might happen if a wild animal normally eating meat only, becomes lacto vegetarian by fate? Here is a real life story: http://health.ayurveda/message/7242 ayurveda , criiii dum <dumicita wrote: > > hi. > pls excuse me for interfering with your conversation, but pls, don't waste your time fighting on your beliefs and habbits. Guest guest
goodness me! since when are sattva, rajas and tamas related to constitution! according to sankhya the physical constitution of the universe as well as the doshas are an emanation of tamas sattva, rajas, and tamas relate not to the body but to the spectrum of an individual's (ahamkara) experience tamasic people engage in debates about the relative purity of other people's diets - sattvic people remain silent because they know the argument is irrelevant, and instead use the power of their mind to shape their reality and rajasic people like me get all hot and bothered when people confuse the two! anyway, i appreciate your idea that the prakriti can change i have suggested this on the list a few years ago, and i drew criticism from some of the vaidyas to be specific, the prakriti itself might not change, but over time it can have limited relevance in this world, there is no rule exempt from the law of change, and why should one's body be any different? PS - i believe some of the most egregious crimes have been committed by people that had a relatively " good " childhood - George W. Bush comes to mind... or what about Ajashatru of ancient India - he was a pretty nasty piece of work too, but i bet he had a " good " childhood; i also know of orphans such as my wife's grandfather, who grew up to be a loving and supportive family man, so again please lets not generalize and be to quick to pigeon-hole people and their experiences on the road to sattva.... todd caldecott On 13-May-07, at 11:41 PM, ayurveda wrote: > Vegetarian Shock > > Posted by: " Shirish Bhate " shirishbhate shirishbhate > > Sun May 13, 2007 10:17 pm (PST) > > Thanks for posting a real life experience. while religious texts or > ayurveda are permissive, one should make the choice best suited to > his constitution.
