Guest guest Posted May 13, 2007 Report Share Posted May 13, 2007 When working in Ayurvedic clinics in India I saw some home made steam baths that worked wonderful and were inventive. They were made from wood and was a copy of the larger extremely more expensive fiber-glass versions. It utilized the steam from the pressure cooker used in Nadi Swedena (localized steam treatments) and the rubber hose was plugged right into a fitting on the side of the steam bath box. The clients head was out and the herbal steam was very effective. We were treating soriosis cases it was awesome. These facilities are located in Pune India and do a lot to help other Ayurvedic clinics get set up. It is very cheap and effective. The entire box, steam producer (cooker) and accessories can be fixed within Rs. 7000/- The electric box are very expensive. Boxes for Steam in lying position is also not very common. It requires larger space and more steam too. I can send you photo of portable steam bath, if anybody wishes. The steam sauna is available for just Rs 6200. This author has been using it and is very convenient when space is a constraint.
