Guest guest
Hi all, One of my frnd had a surgery few months back. he was using sleeping pills whenever he had trouble with sleeping (if there is no proper sleep, the surgery results would be complicated, so he was using them). but now he is unable to get sleep without the use of the sleeping pills. can you please suggest any method/way to overcome that effect. also please let me know will there be any side effects of using the sleeping pills like baldness, infertility etc over long term ( say like 6 to 10 months). thank you
Guest guest
Dear Friend, In addition to expert advice that you might get online, I would suggest your friend to visit www.atbsnr.com that gives simple do-it-yourself exercises that hardly take a few minutes and can be done very easily by anyone from 2 year olds to 100 year olds with lots of side benefits compared to bad side effects of most allopathic drugs and medicines. Wishing your friend speedy recovery, S. M. Guest guest
One suggestion would be to use Melatonin pills as a replacement for sleeping pills. Melatonin is the natural substance secreted in our body that induces sleep. I've recommended this to many of my friends who frequently use sleeping pills because they travel in multiple timezones quite frequently and their bodies are unable to adjust as quickly after a while to sleep at odd hours. Melatonin is non-habit forming and as such has helped them wean off of their sleeping pill addiction, some have been able to stop taking the melatonin when they are back in their timezone and well-adjusted again as it is not habit forming like sleeping pills. I would recommend that u still check with someone more informed and regulatory about the addictino before going on this as addictions have different issues.. at times. good luck. kishore <nkishorebabu123 wrote: he was using sleeping pills whenever he had trouble with sleeping; but now he is unable to get sleep without the use of the sleeping pills. can you please suggest any method/way to overcome that effect. Guest guest
A woman came to my yoga class. She had just become a widow and was unable to sleep so was taking sleeping pills. I gave her a guided meditation Cd and within two weeks she was of the sleeping pills and was able to sleep. I have found that the use of shavasana with guided meditiaotin, pranayama - anulom vilom and deep breathing and creating an ambiance of peace in the bed room all really help to induce the calm required to fall asleep. Journaling during the daytime hours also helps to purge all heavier thoughts and emotions that prevent sleep. --- dr_rathore90 <dr_rathore90 wrote: > ayurveda , " kishore " > <nkishorebabu123 wrote: > he was using sleeping > > pills whenever he had trouble with sleeping, but > now he is unable to get sleep without the use of the > > sleeping pills. > <snip>

Guest guest
Something I have tried and have had good success with my patients on the sleep issue (a common condition for many) is freshly ground Nutmeg. This works better than any expensive pharmaceutical and safer. Grind up a whole nutmeg nut in a small coffe grinder (it's a hard nut so by hand is too tedious. It makes about a teaspoon or so. Mix with warm soy milk or milk and drink 8 hours before you want to wake up. You can start off the first night with a half a teaspoon and see how that is. Even better if you have some way to put it in a capsule. Some people don't need to take more than a teaspoon to get a good sound sleep. This is great for taking away mental chatter in the night. The remainder of the ground nutmeg should be used in the next day or so...anything after that, the oils dry up and then it just becomes an herb to season with. > ayurveda , " kishore " > <nkishorebabu123@> wrote: > > One of my frnd had a surgery few months back. he was using sleeping > > pills whenever he had trouble with sleeping, but now he is unable to get sleep without the use of the > > sleeping pills. > <snip>
