eating goji berries

Namaste, everyone -

I have not posted in a long time, but have a question now. I have

recently started eating dried goji berries because of their reputed

health benefits, especially with immunity. I am a Vata/Pitta (almost

even between the two, but my body looks very Vata) and have had a lot

of trouble the last several months with catching the latest bug that

goes around my daughter's preschool. :( In Oct, our whole family

got sick 3 times. It's been better since Jan, when I started getting

more rest and bolstering my system, but just a week ago found out

about goji berries and decided to try them.

My question is related to heat in my system - can goji berries tend

to increase Pitta? Because I have a herpes outbreak now, and

although it's possible that extra stress (and the resulting

indulgence in extra chocolate) caused the outbreak, I just wanted to

make sure that the goji berries weren't also possibly a problem with

the herpes/increasing Pitta. It does seem to increase my energy and

mental clarity - I have just in this last week become motivated to

return to writing, which I haven't for a couple years.

Additionally, I would like to become pregnant again and am hoping to

conceive next month - are gojis going to be safe (and recommended) to

eat during pregnancy? If so, how many per day? right now I'm

consuming about 60. Thank you for your kind replies.

Blessings,

Connie
