Guest guest
They need to start doing better at regulating the drugs and foods already out there before trying to take on the rest of the world. Our food supply is a disgrace in many ways and they are hastily approving all sorts of drugs and procedures that really are found later not to be safe. All the recent hoo-hah over the drug-eluting stents is a good example. I have one of those and wonder daily how safe it is, but the doctors can't tell me. My mother, sister, and brother all took those weight loss drugs that were perfectly vetted by the FDA and all now have heart and lung problems from them. The FDA has basically become an advertising tool for the drug industry and regulates accordingly. Guest guest
indeed, you speak truth...big pharma owns the fda, and their ultimate concern is the protection of their profits and their market share...any remedies that might potentially infringe on these areas are deamed a threat, and thus the concerns are turned over to the fda, who has in effect become the enforcement arm for these large corporations... should it come to pass that the herbs and supplements that i have the freedom to purchase are no longer availabe, i have a two-pronged approach to the problem: a) most of the herbs and natural medicines that we use in this country can be home cultivated, or wildcrafted...as to those exotics that we cannot grow, a greenhouse comes to mind...it is unlikely that the fda will hold sway over seeds and plant starts... b) as to vitamins and minerals, taking an informed and scientific aopproach to nutrition can certainly take up any slack left by the unavailability of supplements...there is so much good information available on this subject, and i have amassed a considerable library on the subject...also, on the site http://www.walford.com , the website of the late dr. roy walford, there is a demo copy available for download of his diet planning software...it is quite powerful, and fully featured, with only a few restrictions...it is quite handy... lastly, we have until april 30th to voice our concerns to the fda...past that date, they will no longer accept public comment...you may go to this site: http://tinyurl.com/2u7ghc ,and sign an electronic petition to urge the fda to see the light of reason...our collective voices are the only weapons we have in the war being waged on our freedoms....please make yours heard... live in peace, doug ayurveda , " Darla Wells " <lethe9 wrote: > > They need to start doing better at regulating the drugs and foods already > out there before trying to take on the rest of the world.
